I want to leave college and move somewhere else, be it another country or city. I feel that study in the UK has done no good for me, and would rather serve God. I simply want to work and pray. What should I do? What kind of job would I get? College really isn't working out for me, I've sinned enough and feel it will get MUCH worse. I'm 17. My parent's are Muslim but I have never prayed and embraced Islam ever since I moved to this country.
You want to serve God but you don't want to study. I must tell you that study is also a good deed in front of Allah (S.W.T) and you earn continuous reward for that while you study, However you can study in any Madarsa as well for getting knowledge of Holy Quran and Sunnah.
Now to your question, that what kind a job you can do while you haven't finished the college yet?
Answer: Join a Call Center, Provide Tutions, Work in a Car Wash, Restaurants or Grocery Stores etc.
The thing is that you will not earn enough money to support your future family and one day might you will regret for leaving college. But If you follow the command of Allah (S.W.T) and continue your study, you can get a more respectable job with much more salary so that you can do charity and earn rewards for obeying the command of Allah (S.W.T) and also the reward for helping needy. plus living a luxurious life in this world as well. Brother Allah (S.W.T) does not want to take your comfort away from you and ask just to prostate in front of himself. Allah (S.W.T) gave you family, relations and so their responsibilities as well. If you don't fulfill your responsibilities and think that by only praying a lot you can earn Allah's happiness then you are wrong brother.
My advice to you is that, continue your study, offer all the compulsory prayers and read the Holy Qur'an with translation so that you will understand, and try your best to follow the Sunnah of Holy Prophet (S.A.W). Following all of these are better then leaving all your responsibilities and praying 24 hours.
It is often said that,
"The ink of an Scholar is more holy than the blood of the martyr"
And the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) said:
"The search of knowledge is an obligation laid on every Muslim."
(Ibn Majah, Baihaqi).
You can embrace Islam in any country you are. You arent the first or last that has moved and been pushed away.
Before thinking about moving and getting jobs.. you have to wake up.. and knowbthat the problem is not from what country you are in...but the real problem is with you. Fight temptations. Regret. Repent. Pray. Ask Allah for forgiveness. I know that maybebthe country could be more helpful - but dont loose to the shaitan. You being here might be the first steps of change.
Go to a mosque brother - talk to an imam - change your friends
May Allah guide you.
