Asalaam alaikum

I am looking for the Top books i should purchase on Islam. With regard to understanding and learning 1. Meaning of the Qur'an, 2. Fiqh, 3. Aqeedah and anything else such as stories of the prophet and meaning of top/popular hadiths.

I want to keep it to a minimum of 5 books, as i'm not someone who is big on reading. However, i am trying to be, so keeping it to this minimum, Inshallah won't put me of.

Walaikum Assalam.. Dear brother, the best book for all times is Quran. You must know tht even when the hadith were compiled after Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W) it was made sure everytime tht the hadith which is going to be compiled must not be in contradiction with the Quran. Therefore anything tht goes in slightest contradiction with Quran, has on authenticity. I would say tht we live in the World where there are a lot of sects and almost every second person writes a religious book in accordance with his own sect, so it would be better for you to just read and understand Quran because does not talk abt any sect, it's a neutral book (in regard to sects as it does not support any sect).

Hope this helps. Regards.

Wassalam!! Just like the brother said the most noblest of all books that you can find in this globe is the Holy Quran, where not even a single letter is altered. After that the Hadith that was written by known scholars and writers such as Al-Bukhari and so on.....

If you are looking for books that are written in 20th century then you I advised you to read THE INFINITE LIGHT by Fethullah Gulen. this author has written a lot of good books that are strictly based on the Quran and its teachings. I also advised you to read the Light collection (Risale i Nur) by Bediuzzaman Said Nursi. Both are great authors who are pious and a sincere believers!
