Assalamualaikum. In the name of Allah, the mercy and the benevolent. I have acquainted with a woman who went to my school. We are both 24 years old. We have gotten to know each other over the past 8 months or so and we have both agreed that we would like to get married. She has converted to Islam on my guidance and this has pleased me more than anything. She is still learning the basics. We are both still university students in our penultimate years. Only once we have completed university ,(even then it is not guaranteed), and secured a job, will we be able to get married and move in together. MY QUESTION IS, are we allowed to get married and live in my parents home (with my parents and siblings). We have a 6 bedroom house and 4 floors so space is not an issue and everyone in my family is loving and caring and we have strong relationships with one another., so I am sure she would fit right in. One of the main reasons I want to get married is because I do not want to behave as we are married when we are not, as I know this is not allowed. But it is getting more and more difficult for us both and I am afraid that in taking 2 years to get married, something will go wrong and I will not be able to put it back together again. I appreciate who ever reads this and advises me. May Allah bless you. Usman |

Dont worry about anything going wrong be your normal self if you two are meant to be then all will be well.as for acting if your married well i suppose if you are definatly getting married then it wouldnt hurt to act as if your engaged, what im trying to say is that there are limits acting as if your married when your not, so act as if your engaged.and congratulations hope everything goes well.-aqibA |

Walaikum Assalam.. Nice to hear brother tht you've preached a girl and now she is a Muslim. Let's talk abt the subject now. There's a difference between becoming muslim at this stage tht whether she has converted because she is interested in u or really she has been impressed by islam. As far as the space in ur house concerned, that is not a relevant statement because where love is there, whole family could live in a 2 bedroom apartment as well. I'd suggest you tht dont go for a marriage immediately. Give her sometime to understand islam, because it's the issue of generations here. Moreover you must seek guidance from Allah in this case and consult your parents too. Regards. Wish you best of luck. May Allah guide u.

Let her learn the basics of Islam first, just in case. And yes, you and your wife are allowed. |
