It depends on Intention..If your fasting because of Miliad, then no..Muslims only have two Eids. Reasons Why We should Not celebrate Eid Milad al-Nabi (the Prophet's Birthday) REASONS WHY WE SHOULD NOT CELEBRATE EID MILAAD UN NABIWI 1. Eid Milad is not in Islamic Shariah, it was later introduced by Shia Fatimid in Egypt. 2. Historians differed about the date of birth of Prophet SAW. Some said it's in Ramadan, some in Shabaan and Some said its in Rabi ul awal. 3. How can a Muslim rejoice and have party when on 12th Rabi al Awal our prophet died? :-( 4. Birthday celebration have pagan roots. Celebrating birthdays is not all0wed at all. 5. This celebration is neither from Sunnah nor Qur'an. Anything that is not part of these two can not be part of Islam. 6. Prophet SAW said, "Stick to my sunnah and the sunnah of my rightly guided Caliphs, beware of Newly invented matters, for every new matter is Bid'ah and every Bid'ah is misleading. (Tirmizi 2676)" 7. Allah says in Surah al Maidah, Ayah3. "This day I have perfected your religion for you." When Islam is perfect and complete then who gave the authority to these people to introduce new things in Islam? 8. Celebrating milaad is imitation of Christians and Jews. Jews celebrate birthday of Uzair, Christians celebrate birthday of Esa AS. 9. Prophet Saw said, "Whoever imitates a people becomes one of them. (Abu Dawood)" 10. Prophet SAW said, "Be different from Mushrikeen. (Sahih Muslim)" 11. Prophet SAW said "Do not exaggerate in praising me. Surah Ghafir 39. "O my people! Truly, this life of the world is nothing but a (quick passing) enjoyment, and verily, the Hereafter that is the home that will remain forever.

Walikum Assalam,

Fasting on Friday and Saturday are not permissible, other then Ramadan. Because Friday is EID of Muslims and If you fast on Saturday you would follow Bani Israel (Children of Israel) because they were commanded by Allah (S.W.T) to fast on Saturday.

What is mawlid?

Mawlid is prophet Muhammad sallahu allahi WA Salam birthday mawlid is celebrating for this day. As far as my understanding it is an innovation. As far as fasing for his birthday I don't know.. May Allah subhana WA taala forgive me if I am mistaking .

O Yes, I get it. Its called Eid Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W) here.

No brother, you still can not fast. Because it is also an EID if you celebrate the day. And Fasting on the Day of EID is prohibited, it is as you have commited a sin.

you can fast any time except for 2 eids days, but specially for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W) which itself a bida is defiantly a bida. I found a hadith related to fasting on this day is either weak, possible ploted to misguide muslium.

its me MR BELIEVER actually downing your comment. actually u should remove the comment from here now i told u why?

1)Fasting on Friday and Saturday are not permissible, how does u say that where does it prohibited in Islam? 2)Friday is EID of Muslims How does u say that ? 3) Eid Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W) is a bida not an eid .

MY ANS 1) 9 Muharram 1434: Friday 23 November 2012, 10 Muharram 1434: Saturday 24 November 2012, 11 Muharran 1434: Sunday 25 November 2012, Most of the Muslium fast of Muharram this year on that day FRIDAY & SATURDAY & HOW CAN U SAY THAT it is not permissible.

Jews fast 10 Muharram , but we muslium fast 9,10 or 10,11 Muharram because our Prophet Muhammad S.A.W said differentiate from Jews but also said we have more right on Prophet Musa than them,Our Prophet Muhammad S.A.W came to testify ESA A.S & Mosa A.S not reject them .Please think before u comment.

2) Eid is only 2 Eid ul fitr and Eid Azha isn't wrong to use term Eid for Friday.

3) Eid Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W) is a bida(Innovation) not Islamic teaching/ or EID .

i think believer u r new to Islam? if u didn't have knowledge about a matter in Islam then please don't comment on it always comment on those which u have knowledge .
