Assalam Aliakum, I am a wife and mother of 3 beautiful children. My husband and I have had many, many hardships in the last 6 weeks. He has lost his job, been accused of very bad things that aren't true, and have made him feel depressed and sad that someone would accuse him of such. He is a man of pride, and he worked for his company very hard for a long time and had a very good job. I am asking for dua to help him in his time of sadness. He feels that he let my kids and myself down, but no matter my words of reassurance, he still hurts. Although we are financially struggling, and this was such a hard thing to deal with, I I already see the positive in our situation. Allah (swt) has a plan, and I see the reasons already for His challenge. We have come together as husband and wife and as a family. We have been turning to Islam, praying together, and finding such peace in being grateful for all the little things. Last week an aunt and Nani Ami on my husband's side of the family passed away. And I just found out next week on February 4th I will be having stomach surgery, and on February 7th I am having a hysterectomy. I am only 27 years old, but Allah (swt) blessed me with 3 beautiful children, so i do not grieve no longer having another child. I am very scared, I'm scared for myself and for my family. I need to be strong for my family and healthy to take care of them. Please can you tell me any dua or prayers to read before my surgery, and afterwards to thank Allah (swt) for bringing me through such a hard time, Inshallah. I need prayer to be strong and courageous, and healthy. Please help me be the wife and mother I need to be.

Walikum Assalam,

Holy Qur'an says,

And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient,Who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah , and indeed to Him we will return." Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the [rightly] guided. [Holy Qur'an 2:155-158]

“Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, ‘We believe’, and that they will not be put to the test?” [Holy Qur'an 29:2]

Sister, I believe its a great test. In an other place Holy Qur'an says,

Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. [Holy Qur'an 2:286]

Now to your question, that what you should do.

The Prophet (S.A.W) said, ‘Whoever recites surah al Waqiah at night would never encounter poverty’ [Ibn Sunni 620]

The Prophet (S.A.W) said, ‘Surah al Waqiah is the Surah of Wealth, so recite it and teach it to your children’[Ibn Asakir]

And also please offer Tahajjud prayer or if you can not, you can ask your husband to offer tahajjud it is said that if you really need something but do not pray tahajjud for it, it is as if you do not need it.

Asalumualaykum, Believer, I took your advise, both myself and husband followed your instruction. The next day we received a great financial relief that we had been working toward. Thank you so much for your guidance. I have successfully made it through one surgery. Big surgery is on Thursday, please say a prayer that I do well and this improves our life further. Thank you again for all guidance and prayers sent our way. Khadijah

Time for tahajjud swalah:any time after second third of night(about 2 pm) and upto the subah aazan.but take atleast a little sleep before swalah. U can read any of the surah after fathiha. It is two rakhat, but u can extend it two after two upto 8 rakhat.but better is keep same number of rakhat everyday. Also,if u can make dua in the position of last sujood, its more better.. asifsafu@gmail.com
