hi all, here is the story from A to Z please i am asking for advice so don't be judgmental. i am a young muslim women who moved to new york from an arabic country since more than 2years now. i started school and everything seemed to be good i want to be a lawyer but you know how life is hard in new york i've been struggling to find a job my sister got married to a muslim arabic guy who kicked me out of the apartment knowing that i have no place to go and no money since i wasn't working. i've struggled a lot to make a living my mom want to help me but because of the stupid regulation of foreign money in my country she can't send me any money. i've been through a lot in new york i moved before the age of 20. i'm sorry to say that but i've been betrayed by muslims whenever i go to an interview to tutor arabic or french for someone or work with someone in his office i get other response such as hanging out or having sex with me i was chocked i couldnt believe plus the families that i worked for especially muslims some of them didnt pay me and i got into problems and arguing with them that lead to a point that i hated all muslims i was asking myself how a human being can do such horrible thing to someone and claimed that she/he is a good muslim. anyways days went by i started to be broke and depressed and start to think about going back to my country but what would i do there, how can i make a living and why god had put through all of this. i met a very sweet nice guy older than me. we started to go out together and suddenly felt in love with each other. for the first time i felt that someone loves me for who i am and didn't only see the pretty face or the perfect skin that i have. the problem is that he is not a muslim, but he has a great connection with god. i found everything that i always wanted in him and suddenly everything start to be good in my life. i never felt so confident and so beautiful before meeting him. he is very opening minded cultivated, smart, mature, and handsome. we are madly in love with each other, months went by with had sex many time. i know it is a sin, but please don't say anything that would break more than i am right now. i start to feel like i am a zania. i see only dark and i am going through a depression sometimes i just dont want to get out of bed. when i speak to him about islam he says that he doesn't want a religion that would break the great connection that he has with god. i hate him when he says that, and i feel that if i leave him because of that it is so unfair to both of us. he haven't done anything bad to me he treats me well/ i feel like a human being next to him not like a pretty doll that every single man want to have fun with. i want some advices to convince to convert to islam. any books or sitewebs that might be helpful i would appreciate it. also i want some suggestion about my situation what should i do and how i can ask god for forgiveness. thank you!

I have to be frank because it seems you don't want to hear the truth but you want someone to tell you what you are doing is correct. It is forbidden for Muslim women to marry non-Muslim men, according to the Qur’aan, the Sunnah and the consensus of the scholars (ijmaa’) . If such a marriage takes place, it is invalid, it does not have any impact upon inheritances according to sharee’ah, and any children born from this union are illegitimate. Hoping that the husband may become Muslim does not alter this ruling in the slightest.

a man once asked Abu hurray rah- Allah be pleased with him. What is al-taqwa? He replied have you ever taken a path filled with thorns? The man replied, I have. Abu hurray rah asked him, what did you do? He replied, when I saw a thorn I would dodge it or pass over it or behind it. Abu hurray rah said, that is al-taqwa

In our view, person does not have an understanding of the religion until he thinks of a hardship as being a blessing, and a comfort and luxury as being a hardship. (sufyan ath thawree)

Why did you go through everything you mention?

وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الْخَوْفِ وَالْجُوعِ وَنَقْصٍ مِنَ الْأَمْوَالِ وَالْأَنْفُسِ وَالثَّمَرَاتِ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ الصَّابِرِينَالَّذِينَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُمْ مُصِيبَةٌ قَالُوا إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ أُولَـٰئِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ صَلَوَاتٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ وَرَحْمَةٌ ۖ وَأُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُهْتَدُونَ “And certainly, We shall test you with a bit of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits. But give glad tidings to the patient ones who, when afflicted with a calamity, say: “Truly! To Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return.” They are those upon whom are the blessings, descend from their Lord, and they receive His Mercy, and it is they who are guided.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:155-157) وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَعْبُدُ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ حَرْفٍ ۖ فَإِنْ أَصَابَهُ خَيْرٌ اطْمَأَنَّ بِهِ ۖ وَإِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ فِتْنَةٌ انْقَلَبَ عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهِ خَسِرَ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةَ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ الْخُسْرَانُ الْمُبِينُ “And among mankind is he who worships Allah as if he were upon the very edge (i.e. in doubt); if good befalls him, he is content with it;. But if a trial befalls him, he turns back on his face. He loses both this World and the Hereafter. That is the evident loss.”(Surah al-Haj 22:11)

مَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيَذَرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَىٰ مَا أَنْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّىٰ يَمِيزَ الْخَبِيثَ مِنَ الطَّيِّبِ ۗ وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُطْلِعَكُمْ عَلَى الْغَيْبِ وَلَـٰكِنَّ اللَّهَ يَجْتَبِي مِنْ رُسُلِهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۖ فَآمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِ ۚ وَإِنْ تُؤْمِنُوا وَتَتَّقُوا فَلَكُمْ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ “Allah will not leave the believers in the state in which you are now until He distinguishes the wicked from the good.” (Surah Al ‘Imrân 3:179)   He does that by putting the believers in trial.

Because of the abhorrent nature of this crime, Allaah has decreed that the punishment for it should be stoning to death if the person is married and flogging if he was not married.

What the one who has fallen into this major sin must do is repent sincerely to Allaah, and keep away from everything that may lead to this haraam or cause him to return to it. Allaah rejoices over the repentance of sinners and accepts it from them. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Say: O ‘Ibaadi (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allaah, verily, Allaah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft‑Forgiving, Most Merciful”

[al-Zumar 39:53]

Ibn Katheer (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: This verse is a call to all sinners, kaafirs and others, to repent and turn to Allaah. It tells us that Allaah forgives all sins for the one who repents to Him and turns away from them, no matter what they are, even if they are many and are like the foam of the sea. End quote from Tafseer Ibn Katheer (7/106)

The one who is faced with any such thing should hasten to repent to Allaah and do a lot of good deeds, in the hope that Allaah will forgive him. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning)

“And those who invoke not any other ilaah (god) along with Allaah, nor kill such person as Allaah has forbidden, except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse ___ and whoever does this shall receive the punishment.

The torment will be doubled to him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein in disgrace;

Except those who repent and believe (in Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds; for those, Allaah will change their sins into good deeds, and Allaah is Oft‑Forgiving, Most Merciful”

[al-Furqaan 25:68-70]

“And verily, I am indeed forgiving to him who repents, believes (in My Oneness, and associates none in worship with Me) and does righteous good deeds, and then remains constant in doing them (till his death)”

[Ta-Ha 20:82]

In order for you to be sincere towards your Lord in your repentance, and so that Allaah may change your bad deeds (sayi’aat) into good deeds (hasanaat), you have to stop thinking about the man. Do not follow in the footsteps of the Shaytaan, and do not get carried away thinking about him, let alone speaking to him on the telephone, let alone meeting him, let alone doing anything that is more serious than that. You have no excuse for this relationship

I  give you the best advice, which is to make du’aa’. Get up in the latter part of the night and beseech your Lord, submitting yourself to Him and humbling yourself before His Majesty, asking Him to rid you of the problem. Turn to your Lord and call upon Him, for He is the best One to be asked – may He be glorified – and He does not turn away His slaves if they are sincere.

Do you know that by thinking of this man, getting in touch with this man and meeting man, the Shaytaan may cause you to fall into that which you did before? I hope that you will not be over-confident and think that you will be able to resist, for the one who is ruled by his desires is weak, and whoever walks for a few steps with the Shaytaan will walk with him to the end. But you should know that you are incurring the wrath of the Compeller (al-Jabbaar) and that you are committing one of the gravest acts of disobedience against Allaah after shirk.

Allaah has forbidden Paradise to every evil person, and He has made Paradise the abode of the good, and no one will enter it but those who are good. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Those whose lives the angels take while they are in a pious state (i.e. pure from all evil, and worshipping none but Allaah Alone) saying (to them): Salaamun ‘Alaykum (peace be on you) enter you Paradise, because of that (the good) which you used to do (in the world)”

[al-Nahl 16:32]    So I advise you to fear Allah and your concern should not be about working inshallah. Allah will open doors for you if you truly repent. You have to cut ties with this man. And come not near to unlawful sex. Verily, it is a Faahishah (i.e. anything that transgresses its limits: a great sin), and an evil way (that leads one to hell unless Allaah Forgives him)”. This man is kafir no matter how good a man he is. The prophets uncle is in hell even though he helped the prophet, in addition his parents went to hell. So do not let this man touch your heart. I really advise you to get out of this environment and should not make having a job a concern. Inshallah Allah will open up doors for you are really sincere.and if u do not heed my advice every punishment from him is pure justice and every blessing from him is pure grace (ibn taymiyyah)

But by His Mercy, He shows kindness to His slaves, gives them respite and invites them to repent, and He accepts repentance and gives reward for it. How merciful, great and kind He is, may He be glorified and exalted. So continue repenting and turning to Him, beseeching Allaah to accept it from you, and Allaah accepts the repentance of those who repent.

And Allah knows best.

thank you so much for your advice. it is not that i don't want to hear the truth but i've been judged and treated like an animal by other muslims including imams and so i don't want to go into details. i know that i committed a sin and a bigger one but he was the one who actually helped me to get out of the dark side that i was living on and get me back to track. i want to clarify some points in here. i'm not with him because of the money or something like that i'm an independent person and i don't ask anyone to help me financially now that i do have a job i'm still broke but hamdoulah i'm doing great at school and i know it is just a step and it will go away soon. i've been rejected by my own sister because she wanted it her husband that abused me and her more at a point that she kicked me out of the apartment with no mercy. where would i go then nowhere. no body bother him/herself helping a 20 years old girl to get back to track. i felt like a sex object whenever i applied for a job and went to an interview you know how hard is it for me going there to teach someone a language then the asshole asks me for something else. i've been betrayed by my own people of my own religion the only help that i get is from some christian friend that i met at school. she helped because she has been through the same thing. when i met this man i wasn't thinking right, and he is open minded , he is learning about islam but i don't see any improvement yet. i love him because of the way he treats me. i never felt with him that i am just a pretty face to look at. i just want some suggestion to help him convert to islam quickly because he is going in a slow mention. i really do appreciate your advice at least you didn't say anything that will break me even more.

I haven't read your main question yet, as it is too lengthy and I have to go for sleep right now. I have only read the answer of @Light briefly and your this comment and in the light of your this comment i want to say that, be a true Muslim yourself first and then expect your sex partner to become Muslim. Your actions speak much louder then your words and your words should be connected with your actions. You think a person who has made you his sex satisfaction object is a good human begin, its no different then what you have mentioned that employers were asking for sex and he did same.

Rasuililah says al qabidu al denhe qal qubidu al jamr attain min naar. Holding on to this religion is like holding on a coil of fire. It is extremely hard to be riotous in this time, Rasuililah says Adunya sijnal mumin wa janatul kafir. this worldly life is hellfire for the Muslim and paradise for the kafir. So how hard did rasulilah say this world is for us Muslims, very hard. Even those close to the prophet treid to harm him. Not just yo many people have experience worst. YOU HAVE TO BE PATIENT.i'm sorry for what happened to you but Allah will reward your hardship.

First of all, no matter what the reason you are with him it is prohibited.even if you are not with him for the money, looks or so one. Sister this is not just a step, do you understand the degree that you are in. If u die now, u have no excuse to Allah why you were around a man that is not your husband. Rasûlullah said: "…adultery of the eyes is when it looks at that which is Harâm; adultery of the ears is when it listens to that which is Harâm; adultery of the tongue is when it utters Harâm; adultery of the hands is when it touches Harâm; adultery of the feet is when it walks towards Harâm; adultery of the heart is when it desires and hopes for that which is Harâm; adultery of the private parts is when it succumbs to that which is Harâm." (Targhib wa Tarhîb)

From the above Hadîth it is clear and apparent that Islam forbids not only the act of adultery but all acts that invite and encourage the act of zina. Islam shuts the door to the root of every evil.

Nabî says: "We walked until we came to something that looked like an oven. Its top section was narrow and the inside was broad. From it sounds of screaming and noise was heard."

Nabî further says: "We looked inside and we saw naked men and women. We also saw flames from beneath them. When these flames scorched them, they screamed." I asked Jibra’îl (AS): "Who are these people?" He replied, "These are the males and females who committed the grave act of zina. This will be their punishment till the day of Qiyâmat." (Bukhari)

Sister, this is not a step. This is the degree in what you have did. And I say this to make you aware of your situation.Know that true love is for the sake of Allah..

Allah says wa asa an Takrahu shayun wa huwa kayarunlakum wa asa an tahubul shayun wa huwa shari lakum. You might think something is good for you, or might think something is bad for you. But Allah knows best,

This ayah says Allah knows best, not you or me or anyone else. So please follow what Allah says, not what you feel is right. You have to break ties, is that simple. If he became Muslim it might be for your sake. It won't be sincere. So I advise you this stop relationship for your benefit. Allah will give you man so much better, who fears Allah. There are so many great men, so do not continue this struggle anymore.

if he loves you my dear,he will be muslim but if he doesnt, then he wont, and by the way who knows maybe he is just using you.the fact tha you gave in to him means a lot, some men are unpredictable.i hope he wont ask you this question."IF YOU ACCEPTED TO SLEEP WITH ME,WHAT GUARANTEE DO I HAVE THAT YOU WONT SLEEP WITH ANOTHER MAN?' I END HERE.

Totally agree with you @khadijah, and yes this is a common thought "once a liar always a liar" . And second thing, for which the marriage is created (sex - children), she has already done with him so I find no need for the man to get marry with @love and he is only calling her to go more astray as a Muslim girl can not marry a Christian and he is against the religion which by his thought disconnects their illegal connection. I find this an excuse from the christian guy to not to get marry with @love and to only sleep with her.

hello lost

below i tried to list you some verses that show that good people will also go to heaven, even if they are not Muslim. i included the verses that talk about good Jews and Christians, because from your story i guessed that your friend has a faith, though not Islam.

but before you look at any of these verses, please read this one:

"Who spend [help the needy] during ease and hardship and who restrain anger and who pardon the people - and Allah loves the doers of good; Ali-imran 134"

he helped you in a time of your greatest need didnt he? this should answer your doubts. for those whom Allah has seen fit for heaven, you cannot condemn to hell with your own opinions.

anyway. here are some verses:

Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans [before Prophet Muhammad] - those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness - will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve. 2:62

Indeed, We sent down the Torah, in which was guidance and light. The prophets who submitted [to Allah ] judged by it for the Jews, as did the rabbis and scholars by that with which they were entrusted of the Scripture of Allah , and they were witnesses thereto. So do not fear the people but fear Me, and do not exchange My verses for a small price. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed - then it is those who are the disbelievers. 5:44

O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are [in fact] allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among you - then indeed, he is [one] of them. Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing people. 5:51

Indeed, those who have believed [in Prophet Muhammad] and those [before Him] who were Jews or Sabeans or Christians - those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness - no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve. 5:69

You will surely find the most intense of the people in animosity toward the believers [to be] the Jews and those who associate others with Allah ; and you will find the nearest of them in affection to the believers those who say, "We are Christians." That is because among them are priests and monks and because they are not arrogant. 5:82

And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with a provision of fruit therefrom, they will say, "This is what we were provided with before." And it is given to them in likeness. And they will have therein purified spouses, and they will abide therein eternally. Bakara:25

Who spend [help the needy] during ease and hardship and who restrain anger and who pardon the people - and Allah loves the doers of good; Ali-imran 134

Allah will say: "This is a day on which the truthful will profit from their truth: theirs are Gardens with rivers flowing beneath their eternal home: Allah well-pleased with them and they with Allah: that is the great Salvation (the fulfillment of all desires). Maide:119

For them who have done good is the best [reward] and extra. No darkness will cover their faces, nor humiliation. Those are companions of Paradise; they will abide therein eternally Yunus:26Indeed, they who have believed and done righteous deeds and humbled themselves to their Lord - those are the companions of Paradise; they will abide eternally therein. Hud:23

They who are during their prayer humbly submissive

And they who turn away from ill speech

And they who are observant of zakah (helping the needy)

And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive

And they who carefully maintain their prayers

-Those are the inheritors

Who will inherit al-Firdaus(a cool heaven).

They will abide therein eternally.

Muminum:2 3 4 8 9 10 11 Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - indeed, We will not allow to be lost the reward of any who did well in deeds.

@lost in love and @pargali

You can not marry a disbeliever. Holy Qur'an clearly states,

And do not marry polytheistic women until they believe. And a believing slave woman is better than a polytheist, even though she might please you. And do not marry polytheistic men [to your women] until they believe. And a believing slave is better than a polytheist, even though he might please you. Those invite [you] to the Fire, but Allah invites to Paradise and to forgiveness, by His permission. And He makes clear His verses to the people that perhaps they may remember. [Holy Qur'an 2:221]

First I want to clear what @pargali has said and quoted, because it clearly reflects in his replies that he only searches on internet what he feel is right and not what Islam says. The first verse which he quoted is as follows,

"Who spend [help the needy] during ease and hardship and who restrain anger and who pardon the people - and Allah loves the doers of good; Ali-imran 134"

Answer: No believer can deny the above statement, Allah (S.W.T) loves who helps others. But note if a disbeliever do good in this world, Allah (S.W.T) pay back the disbeliever in this world and a disbeliever has no good portion for hereafter. However if a Muslim do good, Allah (S.W.T) gives him good in this world as well as in hereafter.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another verse which @pargali quoted, of which he only took the literal meaning but not what it actually says, here is the verse which he quoted

Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans [before Prophet Muhammad] - those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness - will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve. 2:62

Answer: Now if you just concentrate what is written in brackets [before Prophet Muhammad] and why the translator even wrote this? Bracket is provided to remove confusion. The verse clearly says Those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans means, Jews at the time of Moses (PBUH) until the Prophet-hood of Jesus (PBUH) and Christians at the Time of Jesus (PBUH) until the Prophet-hood of Holy Prophet (S.A.W), now does it make clear why this is written in brackets [before Prophet Muhammad] ? The thing is that when new Shariah came it dissolves the previous Shariah of the Prophet before him. So who were Jews from the time of Moses (PBUH) until Jesus (PBUH) those Jews will go to heaven but not after Jesus (PBUH) given Prophet-hood because when Jesus (PBUH) came with his Shariah then it would be obligatory on every living jew to Believe in the Prophet-Hood of Jesus (PBUH) and become the follower of Jesus (PBUH). Similarly, now it is obligatory on every Christian to revert to Islam, Believe in Oneness of God and Believe in the Prophet-hood of Holy Prophet (S.A.W) because if they don't, they will not go to Paradise and there is no reward for them in hereafter. So @Love forget this, that your christian lover will go to heaven because now he has to embrace Islam or he will go to Hell.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another verse quoted by @pargali,

O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are [in fact] allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among you - then indeed, he is [one] of them. Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing people. 5:51

Answer: I don't know why you even quoted the above verse for this discussion as this goes against your own statement. It clearly states "do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are [in fact] allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among you - then indeed, he is [one] of them. Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing people"

So Holy Qur'an is saying itself that they are not your true friends and do not make them your own friend or you will be one of them.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now after the long answering and clearing section which I have provided above.

Some proofs from Holy Qur'an that Allah (S.W.T) will not forgive Shirk (Polytheism) But Allah (S.W.T) can forgive any other sin.

Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills. And he who associates others with Allah has certainly fabricated a tremendous sin. [4:48]

Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills. And he who associates others with Allah has certainly gone far astray. [4:116]

And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty. [25:68]

i have understood from your way of discussing that 1- you ask for proof in the Quran when someone says you are wrong, 2- when the proof is stated, you are arguing with the scripture. Quran is not your personal playground or your own interpretation. you can discuss where you can apply the surahs, but you can not argue against the context of the surah itself.

once again you are trying to refute a scripture with a bracket (hadith). WHAT SAYS IN THE BRACKET IS THE ADDITION OF THE TRANSLATOR, DOES NOT EXIST IN THE QURAN.

i have posted more surahs about this matter. you didnt talk about those. i am waiting for your interpretation about those as well.

anyone who says that Christian or Jew goes to hell sees himself as God. do not do this. only Allah says who goes to hell and who doesnt.

You have no knowledge of Holy Qur'an, and you are proving it again and again.

First, before being a copy cat of Holy Verses from Qur'an you should know what they are saying. There is something called "Tafsir of Holy Qur'an" please read them. The words of Qur'an are not random words but they have meanings in it which you don't know because you never tried to learn Qur'an you just know how to search on Google.

Regarding brackets, brackets are provided to remove confusion for the people like you because scholars knew that some people like you have no brain to think so they provided it for your ease. Second thing, translation of Holy Qur'an in any language are approved from Scholars so don't think translator has only translated what he thought.

I provided explanation (Tafsir) for the verses which needs explanation. Other verses which you have quoted are not even connected with this topic. And one verse which you have quoted goes against your own statement

O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are [in fact] allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among you - then indeed, he is [one] of them. Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing people. 5:51

And this is not a debate of posting more Surahs, be logical every one can just Google it using the keywords which could support his arguments and he can quote. You should have knowledge before quoting Surahs, like now you have no explanation for verses which you have quoted and blaming that translator has used his own thoughts in brackets LOLx. Don't you know the translation of Sahih International and others are approved by Islamic Scholars, read here

http://www.saheehinternational.com/

Now, give me answer if Jews and Christians of Today can go to heaven with corrupted scriptures and by not believing in Holy Prophet (S.A.W) why Allah (S.W.T) sent Holy Prophet (S.A.W) with Holy Qur'an if the people of previous scriptures are on straight path already?

Considering Christians are polytheism and if they can go to heaven why Allah (S.W.T) in Holy Qur'an said multiple times that Allah will not forgive association of partners with him,

if according to you christian being polytheism can go to heaven?

Answer it.
