this is what i asked last week and i found out there are sheikhs that say its prohibited and i asked weather i can pray with a picture in my room some people said its okay as long as you dont worship the picture but aisha didnt worship picture and the prophet still ordered her to get rid of the picture i cant find a straight answer anywhere i thought about it and i think maybe it is even thought a picture isn't drawing but the prophet gave the reasoning that your trying to create what allah has created so i kinda think pictures are bad |

no just because you have a book written by a muslim dosent mean its correct you dont just do what people that call themseleves muslims do there are people that drink and call themselves muslim dosent mean its ok for you to drink now we follow the prophet and the quran and those quotes above are from muhammad this came much before the book that you speak of and not only is drawing humans haram drawing the prophet is an even worse sin this mean that the muslim society thought it was wrong then this book of yours came after and the book is a re-writing of history and belifs |

I have a large book on ancient Islamic art. There are many pictures that include people and angels, there are picture story's of Muhammad being taken for a night journey through paradise. There are pictures of the profit fleeing Mecca and arriving in Madina. There are pictures of the Great Festival, and many other quite beautiful.
So Muslam society must not have always thought art or the depiction of the human form was a bad thing. Is this idea that art is bad a re-writing of history and beliefs? |
