Salaam everyone. This might be a weird one but if you have heard anything about this I would appreciate any information. On the "Holy Footprint" mountain in Sri Lanka, where legend has it Adam and Eve descended, one of the mountain's Hindu guardian is called Saman. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saman_(deity) I have reason to believe that some natives of the island at one point, when they reverted to Islam, continued to praise Saman because it sounds like the Arabic word al-Samad, as in qul Huwa Allahu -l-Ahad Allahu -S-Samad lam yalid wa lam yuulad... Anyone heard of this before? |
