Salaam all. I know that many conservative Muslims dislike the idea of Sufism, especially the aspect of tomb visitation and shaykh veneration. But what about philosophical Sufism, like the later works of al-Ghazzali, and the works of Ibn Arabi, Rumi, Suhrawardi, Jami, Razi, Nasiafi, or the poetry of Ibn al-Farid, etc? Please don't just say "Sufism - haram!" but try to give specific examples of what about these authors you either like or dislike. |

The thing that come's to the mind is that when you sit and listen to haram thing's your heart may sway. Just for the simple fact that it sounds so good. I'm not saying this about you in particular, but I'm talking in general. This is the way it was explained to me. |
