Amount of Mahr.

0	Assalaamu Alaikum brothers and sisters. Who decides the amount of Mahr in a wedding ?

1	Walikum Assalam, It is decided by a mutual agreement between Groom and Bride. Of course not directly face to face. But between the Groom and the Wali of Bride who will ask the bride that this is the offered amount of mehr from the Groom, do you accept or not?
