Assalam Alaykum. When an random person who dislikes, or even hates Islam comes to you and offends you, what should you tell him/her? What is a wise thing to respond?

Wa 'alaykumus salam . If he rejects islam even after knowing about it , then you should let him do as he likes , as we can't force him to follow islam . You can only fight back when the situation is too serious . Here this verse seems very appropiate " LAKUM DIINUKUM WA LIADIIN " ( sura kafirun : 6 )

"I do not worship what you worship. Nor are you worshipers of what I worship."

If its not a threatening type situation. I have found tolerance with a strong sense of knowledge keeps them at bay. I get a lot of comments at work. Most of the time I say nothing. I wait to genuinely share quality knowledge. Leaving most of them surprised and ashamed of their selves for what they have said. Staying positive and not being on the defense seems to have the best outcome. Most lack the correct knowledge thus they don't understand even the comments they say . Those who do understand and want to cause you problems stay away from them." to you be you way., and to me be mine".
