Wa alaykumus salam . You are required to recite the suras of the quran in arabic when praying salat . Infact , when in salah every single word has to be arabic . This is a must . But outside salat you can read the quran in any language you like . However , learning arabic and reciting quran in arabic has been encouraged . But if one is not able to learn it , there is no harm . He should keep trying so that oneday he may understand arabic .

What a lie. You expect that every new convert to Islam should somehow know how to recite in Arabic? You think people can't pray in English?

Or any other language for that matter?

Shame on you.

So you think someone should put off salat until they can recite in arabic rather than praying anyway they know how to the one true God as soon as the next prayer time is after there conversion to Islam?

No I don't . They need to go to the local masjid and write it down in English letters and read it to the best of their ability. There are many who will help one do this .

But even if someone converted to Islam through reading something on the internet that inspired them, then they realized the next salat was in 1 minute, they could still pray in English. Do you think Allah is picky in that he won't accept an English or German prayer? Or any prayer from any language, as long is it is solely to Him?

Even if someone didn't know Allah's name, but recognized Him as the Creator, and did not associate others with him, God is tolerant. God is the hearer, not just the hearer of Arabic.

They should do what's in their heart but as soon as they have the ability it is to be Arabic. Dua can be however in any language . And when you speak to Allah swt can also be in native language.

let me clear you jook, the salaah should be recited in arabic and yes arabic is required. The salaah is not valid until it is in arabic. The matter here is that Allah S.W.T revealed Holy Qur'an in arabic so we Muslims in Salaah recite in arabic because the word of God is revealed in arabic and a translation is not the word of God rather just a translation. If a newly convert wants to pray but he doesn't memorize any verse then he can pray in masjid behind the Imam, its simple.

And there are very short surahs as well which doesn't require hours to be memorized.
