If a boy has watched homosexual videos in his past, and has done very haram webcam with other men, but never actually done any kind of homosexual acts directly with a guy, can he be forgiven? I have a male cousin who has watched homosexual male porn and has done webcamming with homosexual guys, but never actually did ny form of homosexual acts with any guy He was far from his religion and now he is becoming a good muslim again and is severly regretting the videos he has watched and the guys he has seen on webcam. But he never did any homosexual acts with any male. And he is severly regretting and he cant sleep sometimes its killing him.i told him he can easily be forgiven as he never done any homosexual acts with any guy and the ones who are mot forgiven are the men who actually have had homosexual sex. Did i give him the right answer? I am really worried about my cousin and the reason i really believe in him is because he never did any homosexual things with any guy. He really regrets all the homosexual videos he has watched and the guys he has seen on webcam. I told him it is not as serious as homosexual sex with guys and he should ask for repentance but i dont want him believing what he has done is anything close to the actual homosexual sex. Am i right? Did i tell him the right thing? Plz someone answer im really worried about my cousin.

Tell your cousin to keep doing sincere taubah. Allah forgives all sins. Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 39 Surah Zumur verses 53-54: (O Prophet) say: “O My servants who have wronged their own souls….Do not despair of Allah’s Mercy! Surely, Allah forgives all sins. He indeed is the All Forgiving, All Merciful. Return to your Lord and submit to Him before the scourge overtakes you, for then you may get no help from anywhere.” Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale Imraan verse 135-136: Allah likes such good people very much, who, if ever they commit a base deed or wrong their own soul by the commission of a sin, remember Allah instantly, and ask for forgiveness from Him for their shortcomings. For who, but Allah, can forgive sins? (And Allah loves those) who do not knowingly persist in the wrongs they did. These will be rewarded with forgiveness from Allah, and with Gardens beneath which canals flow, and they will reside therein forever! How excellent is the reward of those who do good deeds! Your cousin needs not worry. Allah is Al-Ra'hman, Al-Ghafur.

He is doing taubah and he regretting severly what he did. And he is not actually homosexual. I just want to know if he watched it and did webcam with a guy, is it the same sin as actually committing the act with another guy? He has never comitted sodomy or been sodomised. I researched a little and it says the major problem is sodomy because even the water cannot clean it. But he has never been sodomised or commited any kind of sodomy with any guy. So if he watched it and webcammed with a guy does it fall in the same catwgory as homosexual acts with someone. From reaearching it says the major problem with homosexuality is sodomy, but he has never done it.

It's not the same as committing the sexual act, it's similar to watching straight porn, its a sin. If he revealed his private parts then that is obviously also a sin, but he will, inshallah be forgiven.
