I have notice that a lot of people of, arab, Pakistani, indian, decent have a problem with people of African decent to the point that in the masjids they will not touch the feet in the prayer thus leaving a gap in the ranks and leaving the lines not straight and this is not the sunnah, also a friend of mine who is a good muslim and is very knowledgeable in the deen was not allowed to marry a woman due to her family, and the reason for this is he is African American, she was told if she marries this brother she will be dishonoring her family and they will disown her. I ask what part of the sunnah are these practices, please present your answer with textual proofs not your qiyas (opinion).

Lets revisit this topic

O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allaah is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa [i.e. he is one of the Muttaqoon (the pious]”

[al-Hujuraat 49:13]

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “O you who believe, verily your Lord is One, and your father [Adam] is one. There is no superiority of an Arab over a non-Arab or of a non-Arab over an Arab, or of a red man over a black man or of a black man over a red man, except in terms of taqwa (piety). Have I conveyed (the message)?” They said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) has conveyed (the message).”

(Narrated by Ahmad, 5/411; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Ghaayat al-Maraam, 313; it was also narrated from Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah that its isnaad is saheeh, in al-Iqtidaa’, 69).

According to another hadeeth, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Those who boast about their forefathers should desist or they will be less significant before Allaah than the beetle that rolls up the dung with its nose. Allaah has taken away from you the arrogance of Jaahiliyyah and its pride in forefathers, so a person is either a pious believer or a doomed evildoer. All the people are the children of Adam and Adam was created from dust.” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 3890; classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh Sunan al-Tirmidhi, no. 3100; and in Ghaayat al-Maraam, 312, it was said that al-Tirmidhi and Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah classed it as saheeh).

The dung beetle is a black bug that rolls up excrement.

Hence it should become clear to you that Islam does not discriminate between one Muslim and another by any earthly standards, whether that be colour, lineage, wealth or country. Rather the only criterion by which people are regarded as superior to others before Allaah is taqwa (piety, consciousness of Allaah). Indeed, the sharee’ah commands the guardian of a woman, if a person comes to propose marriage who is religiously-committed and of good character and attitude, to hasten to arrange the marriage, and to beware of rejecting him and not accepting him, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “If there comes to you one with whose religious commitment and character you are pleased, then marry your daughter [or female relative under your care] to him, for if you do not do that then there will be much tribulation and mischief in the land.” They said, “O Messenger of Allaah, what if there is some other objection?” He said, “If there comes to you one with whose religious commitment and character you are pleased, then marry your daughter [or female relative under your care] to him,” three times.

Narrated by al-Tirmidhi; classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh Sunan al-Tirmidhi, 866

This is haqq I agree. Hope Allaah guides as many people to read it as He wills. Especially those who NEED to read it. Your response is of great value. Salaam

@yaqin Brother, the pain is mutual. I reverted to Islam about 7 years ago but because I know the truth and my reversion was guided by Allahs mercy, this racism issue is enough to make a new Muslim go back to disbelief especially when it happens right infront of the ka'abba. Our scholars what to talk about funication and intrest but the matter of hypocrisy and disobedience to the commandments of Allah as it affects the Arabs is nicely skipped over and swept under the rug. I don't look forward to going to Saudi Arabia for anything because the open racism by the locals is scary.

@mahmoudtukora beloved your words are the truth for this practice is one of the devils tool used to discourage those of African decent away from the deen. I was talking to a brother from the nation of islam some years back and after the haqq of Allah prevailed in our talk he said to me well brother I can't go where I'm not wanted atleast here I am wanted. This truth I had no rebuttal for and this is most sad.May Allah guide you

Most Islamic teachers are in denial of this problem, they don't talk about it because nobody wants to criticize the Arabs especially the Saudis. Some people may go from Ka'aba to Hell if our scholars don't start a massive campaign against racism in modern Islam. Even at Islamic institutions, the teachers and students only want to relate with the white Americans and white British and this happens even I Medina.

@MAHMOUDTOKURA, your answer pains my soul for I know that it is the truth.Nobody wins the race in racism and it is haram in islam. Asabiyyah meaning racism tribalism nationalism are all haram for the first racist was iblis when he refused to obey the command of Allah because he felt he was better than Adam. The knowledgable from the ummah must speakout against this and the fact that they don't tells me that they have no taqwa and I don't take anything from them. you can't give fatwa on one subject that affects the people and totally ignore another. May Allah guide us.

What a sad state of affairs but it seems that racism is rife. Despite all that Allah tells us straight from the Qur'an, ignorance prevails. It is a cultural thing and lack of being educated. By educated I mean in a worldly sense and through Islam. Until Muslims start to make connections between their daily way of life and the Qur'anic teachings, things will remain backward and painful. It seems that so many pray, recite the Qur'an and once finished, get on with their lives without reflecting questioning their own actions and words. They are missing the link, and without this link, what Allah tells them will not become their way of life. And it's all there, just pick up the Qur'an and read....but think about what you are reading. Even one verse, over which you spend time thinking deeply and reflecting is better than a whole Sura read like an automated robot. Seems there are many things we as Muslims need to get right. May Allah SWT help us get there.

@stronghold your words are the haqq, I just want to expound on them and remind for reminding profits the believers.if we see a wrong and let it just be when the wrath of Allah comes on the quilty it will also fall on those that did nothing about it. Racism is very much rooted in the Deen today. It is very sad and to those that are upon Assabiyyah know what you are doing is HARAM. SALAAM
