Salamu Alaykum,

I was wondering if it is haram to promise Allah that you'll do something, for example by saying "Oh Allah please help me pass this exam, if I do I'll fast for 3 days, read Surat-al Baqarah, etc". It seems like a kind of bargain so is it wrong? Sort of like "do this for me, and I'll do this in return".

What do you think?

Not unless you break your promise.. then well... I wouldn't want to be you. Don't make a promise unless your 110% sure you can & will do it.
