Assalmu allaikum warahama dulaahi wabara kaathahu... Dear sis/bro... I'm a reverted muslimah from chennai. I have embraced Islam with lots of love and interest after i came to know our Prophet and the revelation of Al-Qur'an. As i have been brought up in a Hindu region practice have doubt about the rebirth because as per Hindu religious book The Bhagavad Gita states; Hindus believe the self or soul (atman) repeatedly takes on a physical body. Never was there a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor all these kings; nor in the future shall any of us cease to be. As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from childhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. A sober person is not bewildered by such a change. (2:12-13). I have thought those words are not true but recently i have seen one TV- program and they showed the psych-artist proves anyone can go to his past life through some meditation and say what/whom he was and how he died. what Islam states about that?

Firstly my hearty congratulations to u for your reversion to the true religion i.e Islam.May Allah bestow his mercy and forgiveness on you and on all of us !

Rebirth has no concept in Islam.Once a person dies , his soul is returned to his body in the grave and subjected accordingly(deeds he had done). If rebirth was there then there would be a single soul holder of severe punishment in one life and holder of blessed paradise in other life as per hindu mythology... Islam does not beleive in the concept of rebirth..islam states that this life is a test for us to face the Akhirah...and we only get 1 chance !

Plzz correct me if i am wrong anywhere !

yes. There is no known concept of rebirth in islam. But, as much as i know, there is no explicit text that denies the concept either.. So, it is upto Allah(swt)'s decision to send any soul back to earth, (even though it may just be for exceptional cases) and finally, i am just human and could be wrong, but Allah(swt) knows best.. may He enlighten you in this matter!
