I have noticed that my child is very self centered and touchy about his belongings, he doesnt wanna share his things with other people. I dont like his attitude but before saying anything to him I want to know what is Islams take on this. Is it okay for him to be the way he is or should i preach him about the importance of sharing and caring.

Your child should be taught about Islam properly. You should tell him hadiths from our beloved Prophet(blessings from Allah be upon him). When our beloved Prophet was a child, he only drank milk from one of Halima's(may Allah be pleased with him) breast and left the other for another child named Abdullah . From this we can understand what kind of character our beloved Prophet(blessings from Allah be upon him) was born with. He learned to share from his childhood. He had Insaaf. Your child should also share his things and follow Rasoolullah's(peace be upon him) footsteps. You should tell your child about Akhirah and tell him that improving his character is benefical and a good deed. And sharing is a part of good character. Allah loves mu'mins who have good characters. Try to plant love for Allah and our Prophet(blessings from Allah be upon him) in your child's heart and advice him to stop being selfish. This can help.
