Now updated: Ramadan calendar -

Asalamu alaikum wa rahmutallah wa barakatu, I have an important issue I'd like to discuss with you all. I will be attending a Palestine embassy/ museum tomorrow and I have to answer questions about what's happening in Palestine right now. I know quite a bit but however I wanted to know did the Arabs originally own and live In Palestine and then the Jews came and lived in Palestine? I heard that When Jews began to immigrate to Palestine in large numbers in 1882, fewer than 250,000 Arabs lived there, and the majority of them had arrived in recent decades. I know what the Zionists are doing right now but it would be kind if people just gave me clear information JazzakAllah Khair may Allah swt reward you all.

there are oddles of websites with demograghic breakdowns of palestine from ancient times under the romans to the ottomans and of course the british. the league of nations put the numbers at about 60,000 jews and 600,000 arab muslims and 80,000 arab christians in 1920 if i remember right. you should read the balfur declaration and the something-wiesman accord. put there is more history and twists and turns in that region then most. it could take a lifetime to try to understand it all. good thing you got a jump on doing your homework.

Assalamu alaikum,

Palestine was a part of the Islamic State before - so yes, Arabs were there first. However, Jews and Christians also lived there under Islamic Rule. When the Jews were persecuted in Europe, thousands of them fled to the Islamic lands where they were protected. After the collapse of the Khilafah, the British helped establish Israel and basically the Jews pushed all the Muslims into a part of Palestine and took the rest for themselves. Oh, and this war has been going on for 60 years.
