Both the Us Food and Drug Association and the European Union classify mineral water as water that no minerals have been added to or water that has undergone minimal treatment. This means it is pure, clean water containing minerals which make it exclusively beneficial and preferred for drinking. Water from private bores can be a valuable resource as it can contribute to your yearly water needs particularly to irrigate garden areas. However, experience has shown that bore water may be contaminated by micro-organisms and chemicals. It would require testing and processing with continuous monitoring for contaminants. Every natural mineral water gets its properties from the mineral matter, trace elements or other constituents it contains; it follows that every mineral water may have particular nutritional and physiological effects.

So, it is clear that bottling well or bore water is not the same unless you can scientifically show (by conducting the necessary tests) that it is of the same quality as the typical mineral waters sold worldwide. What I want to warn you about is that you need to be selling exactly that which you claim to be selling on the product itself. Otherwise it becomes a falsly marketed product. Islam places the highest emphasis on ethical values in all aspects of human life. In Islam, ethics governs all aspects of life including honest and fair trade.

The Prophet (sws) has also exhorted the believers to strictly adhere to truthfulness in business transactions.

He says: The seller and the buyer have the right to keep or return the goods as long as they have not parted or till they part; and if both the parties spoke the truth and described the defects and qualities [of the goods], then they would be blessed in their transaction, and if they told lies or hid something, then the blessings of their transaction would be lost. (Bukhari, No: 1937)

The tradition implies that Allah blesses business dealings if both the buyer and the seller are true to each other. Telling lies and hiding facts will result in the loss of divine blessing.

And may Allaah SWT guide you and show you the way. This is His biggest blessing to us all. Sallaam.
