Sex before marriage is strongly prohibited by islam, and counts as Zina. Zina is one of the worst sins you can ever commit. After you marry, enjoy your spouse as much as you want.

The Koran

The Light In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

[24.1] (This is) a chapter which We have revealed and made obligatory and in which We have revealed clear communications that you may be mindful. [24.2] (As for) the fornicatress and the fornicator, flog each of them, (giving) a hundred stripes, and let not pity for them detain you in the matter of obedience to Allah, if you believe in Allah and the last day, and let a party of believers witness their chastisement. [24.3] The fornicator shall not marry any but a fornicatress or idolatress, and (as for) the fornicatress, none shall marry her but a fornicator or an idolater; and it is forbidden to the believers. [24.4] And those who accuse free women then do not bring four witnesses, flog them, (giving) eighty stripes, and do not admit any evidence from them ever; and these it is that are the transgressors, [24.5] Except those who repent after this and act aright, for surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. [24.6] And (as for) those who accuse their wives and have no witnesses except themselves, the evidence of one of these (should be taken) four times, bearing Allah to witness that he is most surely of the truthful ones. [24.7] And the fifth (time) that the curse of Allah be on him if he is one of the liars. [24.8] And it shall avert the chastisement from her if she testify four times, bearing Allah to witness that he is most surely one of the liars; [24.9] And the fifth (time) that the wrath of Allah be on her if he is one of the truthful. [24.10] And were it not for Allah's grace upon you and His mercy-- and that Allah is Oft-returning (to mercy), Wise!

I am genuinely asking: What are you attempted to achieve from this Q&A site? And especially - what are you trying to achieve by answering legal questions when you haven't any knowledge concerning them? You're a disbeliever - fine, but you could be doing million+ other things...What's your thinking?

Asalaaamu 3alaykum.Him being a Muslim or not he is welcome here. This site doesn't say scholars answer questions. Members here answer questions. And we don't turn anyone away. There is a point system to show the relativity of a good or bad answer. Read the FAQ that might help you. Also moderators although these days aren't many active , can delete, edit and even have members suspended or banned if needed. The team here at Q&A encourage answers using textual proofs from Qur'an and authenticated sunnah.

humbledslave, i enjoy this website. i enjoy debating people. i like talking to people with different views and most importantly i'm trying to figure out what muslims really believe. if you haven't noticed i read the bbc almost everyday. they cover the world much better than american news. i see alot of violence in the islamic world. then one night i was drunk and i emailed like 8 members of CAIR a question about 4:11. i got back 7 similar answers and the woman in philly said it was no longer applicable. i replied to the local tampa chapter and ended up having diner with the spokesman. he gave

a koran, so i started reading it. now i'm just more confused as to what muslims think. i came across islamophobiatoday.com and started reading that. muslims didn't seem to self critical, so i guess i took an aggressive/cynical stance. not sure what muslim mena to impose on america? plus i'm at work and i'm bored. but you are right, lots of other thinks to do. got to go walk my girls dog and there is a game tonight. need to stop and get beer. i'll check ya on the flip side. btw my original post said "i'm not qualified". but all you want to do is link muhammad munajjid's site then why not tell

Your answer wasn't relevant. Give proof mike. And you answer in answer column, stop always commenting.

(Oct 17 '13 at 17:25) sadie ♦ sadie's gravatar image

i did both. i was commenting but, because that was my opinion on fiqh and then i put the koran verses in the answer box. so it wasn't you. cool. here goes again. i think the lashes are not neccesary because there weren't 4 witnesses. allah has kept their sin hidden. i've had muslims tell me that the lashing is extremely rare because you need 4 witnesses. and if there are 4 you are sinning publicly and corrupting the society, thus the severe earthly punishment. then i said if they want to confess, they can bare witness against themselves 4 times. posted a hadith on stoning but i think the

the principle is the same, where the guy comes to muhammad and confesses adultry. but muhammad turns away until his forth confessing and then orders him stoned. i've never seen it put i was told once that there is a hadith where the guy confesses adultry and muhammad prays with him. then the guy says aren't you going to stone me. and muhammad says haven't we just prayed together. allah has kept your sin hidden. and he wasn't stoned. oh yeah then i said the only question is to make sure you are both fornicator, see the 3rd verse.

This is a question about having sex before marriage. No adultery. Try again.

(Oct 17 '13 at 17:43) sadie ♦ sadie's gravatar image

sadie, the point of siting the hadith is the aspect of the four witnesses. i believe islamic jurist apply that standard to not only accusing some one of zina, but to all forms of zina. at least that is what american muslims have told me. the salafist may have a different interpretation. i believe this surah or at least verses 4-10 are said to have been reveal when aisha got seperated from her caravaan and then was brought into town with other men, i guess unrelated, and rumors spread that she had cheated on muhammad. you know how it is in islam if a woman strays from her wali,
