AssalamuAlaikum,

sister in Islam,

Allah says in the Quran:

Say: "O my Servants who have transgressed against their souls!

Despair not of the Mercy of Allah:

for Allah forgives all sins:

for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

And return [in repentance] to your Lord and submit to Him

before the punishment comes upon you;

then you will not be helped.

(Surah Zumar)

The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) informed us in a Hadith Qudsi:

Allah said: O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done,

And I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you.

O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great at it. [Hadîth Qudsi]

Therefore sister in Islam, do not despair of the Mercy of Allah.

Dont you know that Allah is the Most-Forgiving and that He loves to forgive His slaves?

  1. I am not an Alim to tell you whether what you did was permissible (halal) because of your circumstances or if it was a sin. Maybe ask a scholar or person with knowledge. You can ask the Saudi Sheikh Aseem Al Hakeem in this website http://www.assimalhakeem.net/
  2. It is not permissible for a Muslim to swear by anything except Allaah, may He be exalted, alone, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever swears an oath, let him swear by Allaah, or else keep silent.” I am not sure if what you did of swearing upon the Quran was acceptable. Please ask Sheikh Aseem as well.
  3. For ways of erasing your sins, in'sha'Allah, please read (AND PRINT) http://abdurrahman.org/character/erasingsins.html
