A man has been married for some years. The couple could not go well together, with very frequent fighting and instabilities in attitudes and behaviors. She left house before some days, and then she divorced her husband at the office of the quazi. In the divorce paper it was written ‘1, 2, and 3 counts of the divorce is hereby given by me to my husband’. The paper was sent to the husband. Is the divorce a valid divorce in the eye of Islam? Or should it be counted as 1 count of divorce with 2 others to go?

The husband and his parents and family wonder if they may communicate to the wife to convince her to continue the relationship. Is it allowable according to shariah that they may live life as couples from here on? He feels upset. How may he console himself? Should he need to pay the due amount of Mahr though not asked for at divorce?
