Salaam Amirah, I want to tell you that your happiness is in the religion.

to know the meaning of happiness and religion, we should first know the meaning of love. and that love is related to knowledge and recognition/realization . and recognition is classified on three kinds; 1.something which is suitable and pleasing to the nature of the person/recognizer 2.something which is against and harmful/painful to the person/recognizer. 3. Something which is not with nor against the nature of the person. so everything which is suitable and pleasing to us is lovely and beloved.. and everything harmful or painful is detested and disliked. and so the meaning of Love is the inclination of our nature to what is suitable/pleasing to us.. and vice versa the declination of our nature from what is harmful or painful or against is called dislike/hate.

second point: because love is related to the knowledge and recognition/realization, then it is classified to the number of senses and recognizers.. by another word, for every sense there is a pleasure that is recognized at it. so for someone with a sound nature, the sense of vision is pleased with the nice views/images.. and the pleasure for the sense of hearing is in hearing the nice and balanced rhythm/words.. and the pleasure for the sense of touching is in touching the smooth/soft things.. and the pleasure of tasting is in the delicious food.. and for the smell the nice smells. As prophet Muhammad salla Allahou 3alayhi wa sallam said; "it is beloved to me from your world three; the scent, women and the biggest pleasure for me is made in the prayer". Because the scent for the sense of smell and the women are for the sense of vision and touch.. and then there is another sense(6th sense) that has a pleasure too and that is the heart/brain/light.. and it is made for prophet Muhammad's best pleasure is in praying in front of Allah(in nearness from Allah).(and that pleasure is not recognized/realized by the 5 senses.) and actually the insight(seeing with the heart) is much better and stronger than seeing with the eyes.. and that the eyes of the heart will recognize a lot of beloved/pleased things that the eyes of the face will not recognize. as the eyes of the face will only recognize the beauty in the image but the eyes of the heart will recognize the beauty of the maker of that image.. and Human are a degree above the animals who also have five senses but we are advanced than them only because of that 6th sense/brain/heart. and nobody will deny the love to Allah except someone who is in the category of the animal(5 senses alone).

Third point: It is not a secret that every one love himself the most. Because everyone want to remain and exist.. and against his destruction and death. so he want himself to be safe and want his body/elements/limbs to be safe and he want his money to be safe so we love these things because it is related to our existence/remain.. and then we want safety for our families and friends.. so he loves them for himself also.. another reason of love is our love to the people who did good to us(even if we did not know them before) but because he helped us with something that is good for our self/body/money/knowledge/health also.. but not all the thing we love is because of benefiting our self.. as we love the green, waterfall, good manners, good story, nice looking...etc

4th Point: The truth is: no one deserve our love except Allah. He is the root of all Love and everything else that we love is included in our love to Him.

We love our self and want its remain/perfection and indeed, its creation, remain, perfection, life and death are all in the hands of Allah who created it and caused for it the reason for its life.. while He can do whatever He wills without reasons. Not only us but everything other than Allah is created, and not standing by itself but by Allah.. and has no power but by Allah. so if someone love himself then he should love Allah who created this self and its body and in His hands its remain/continuity.. and when we love the person who did good to us, so how about Allah who gave us life, perfect form, earth and skies and what is between them(from water, air, fire, trees, food, drink...etc.), health, protection, knowledge, guidance... if we attempt to count his favors, we will not be able, it is countless. actually the people who did good to us did for a reason that will benefit them.. but Allah did it without a reason that benefiting Him.. He deserve our love. and when we love something because it is perfect then how about Allah the perfect who created the good and perfection and His characters is absolute and has no limit. His knowledge, His will, His ability is perfect.. His seeing and hearing and words are unlimited.. His mercy and knowledge encompassed everything.(He has at least 99 names). and no body will recognize this beauty of Allah except by knowledge and taste. and when the knowledge is becoming certainty which means there is no 0.0001% of doubts.. and when this certainty is presented in the heart most of the time.. then it is a degree similar to the angels who obey Allah because of their love/fear from Him because their knowledge is certainty and presented.

Finally your happiness is in following the religion of Allah. because the Truth is just one.. and the inclination to that truth is the religion.. that's why the Religion at the eyes of Allah is the Islam(submit/surrender to that truth).. and anyone who will come with any other religion then it will not be accepted from him/her. (Allah knows better) and good luck again. Salaam/Peace upon you.

So beautiful, Inclined2truth, Amirah, take heed, Islam is number one, like i said, plenty of fish in the sea. Respect your self first, and all will follow, and more happiness, real happiness. In Islam, happiness, and contentedness is so different from the non Muslim veiw point.

:) Salaam/peace upon you! Elhamdoulellah who threw His light in the hearts of His lovers so their hearts saw the truth/Allah and is relaxed with His remembrance. Ma shaa Allah sister Abyadgirl I have read your reply to the other post of Amirah and brought tears from my eyes, may Allah pleases you by Him as you immigrated leaving every worldly affair and responded to His light. and in-shaa-Allah(by Allah's will) Amirah will respond too, as for sure she saw Allah's light. and it is her decision to follow it or ignore it. may Allah guide us all the straight path..and more than this from guidance.

Happy Bayram/Ad7a/Sacrifice eid/Feast to you! by the way if your reflect with the story of the sacrifice of Abraham to his first son! imagine, it is because Allah if He loves a person He do not agree except when only Allah alone in the heart of that person. So Abraham loves Allah very much but when he was provided a son in an old age and this son grew up and start to help his father and his heart started to share some love with Allah's love in His heart. Allah taught him a lesson and ordered him to kill/slaughter his son! Imagine!! slaughtering his son!

(Oct 14 '13 at 17:19) inclined2truth inclined2truth's gravatar image

Inclined2truth, your words made tears come again, your words and wisdom is beautiful, Ahamdulliah. I know this story well, Christians maintain it to be Issac, but even I found the truth laying in the Bible as it being Ishmael. Yes, but sacrifice, when it comes, is no hardship, if you put your trust in Allah T ala. May Allah bless you and keep up the good words. Eid Mubarak to you and all.

(Oct 14 '13 at 17:40) abyadgirl abyadgirl's gravatar image

Thank you both.

(Oct 14 '13 at 17:46) AmirahBayyan AmirahBayyan's gravatar image

AB, you should look at the question by abyadgirl, "he wont release me" a couple of days ago.

old testement stories.

(Oct 15 '13 at 15:20) abul rauf abul%20rauf's gravatar image

"So Abraham loves Allah very much but when he was provided a son in an old age and this son grew up and start to help his father and his heart started to share some love with Allah's love in His heart. Allah taught him a lesson and ordered him to kill/slaughter his son! Imagine!! slaughtering his son!" are you saying if you love your son allah will order you to kill him? you write like the koran, hard to follow your pronouns.

(Oct 15 '13 at 15:24) abul rauf abul%20rauf's gravatar image

please stop, your confusing me more. :/

(Oct 15 '13 at 16:13) AmirahBayyan AmirahBayyan's gravatar image

i'm confused too. i'm trying to clarify if god demands all the love in the world to be reserved for him only? i've talked to many muslims in the last 5 years and never heard that. it seems to be a tough religion to know. don't think you should jump into any conversion without knowing as much as you can. of course depending on what muslim you ask you can get many different opinions on what god actually wants. have you read the koran? or just put your faith in allah, leap if you like. you already know the rule that a muslim woman can't be married to a non- muslim.

(Oct 15 '13 at 16:26) abul rauf abul%20rauf's gravatar image

and no muslim, not even a man can marry a (kafir) concealer of the "truth". earlier today i was reading "towards understanding islam". a boook put out by the north american islamic circle. the chapter "what does it mean to deny god" said that those of us that don't believe in god don't use our reason and intellect. we grop around in the dark, we are not just ignorant but we are ingnorance itself, pure and simple. that we are the worst oppressers in the world. i wish i had it with me, it is quite commical. at least read the cow, verses 1 thru 10.

(Oct 15 '13 at 16:34) abul rauf abul%20rauf's gravatar image

then please go find out what you are unclear about instead of adding to my confusion because that's exactly what you're doing. adding to my confusion with your own questions. I'm already uneasy about this enough as is. I understand your trying to help me understand better but your adding more confusion to this all for me.

(Oct 15 '13 at 21:49) AmirahBayyan AmirahBayyan's gravatar image

"then please go find out what you are unclear about" that's what i'm trying to do. inclined2truth says: "his father and his heart started to share some love with Allah's love in His heart. Allah taught him a lesson and ordered him to kill/slaughter his son!" so if a father loves his son, allah will teach him a lesson and order him to kill him. i'm so confused. but i don't know why you are confused. surely you know islam is more than just a "religion". it is a form of governance. it dictates when you wake up, what words you say, what you eat, and who you marry. you obviously already know

(Oct 16 '13 at 09:42) abul rauf abul%20rauf's gravatar image

as a muslim woman you have to marry a muslim man. i've never heard of a single muslim who disagrees with that. i don't know, maybe the gay one's?

(Oct 16 '13 at 09:47) abul rauf abul%20rauf's gravatar image

Amirah, abul rauf // Mike , is an atheist, do not read the tripe he writes. You will find solace in truth. Yes, I had troubles, but Allah knows, this is a test, we are all tested. Muslims struggle as do all humans. I sympathise with you, and support you. You can talk blue in the face to your partner, but if he will not listen, then it is meant to be, he will not be muslim. So spare your self, and move on. You may request insight into Dawah,,,,, how to discuss Islam with non Muslims, in the event of revesion. How were you reverted?.. infact I will ask the question for you.......

(Oct 16 '13 at 09:53) abyadgirl abyadgirl's gravatar image

Salaam Amirah, I usually ignore Abul rauf, because he is not here to learn about Islam but to fight it.

Abul Rauf, Yes Allah taught Him a lesson after testing His love to Him, by ordering him to slaughter His son. and the rest of the story is that he and his son accepted/obeyed the order. And when he willed to slaughter his son as obedience/submit to Allah's order. Allah called him that he succeeded in the test/trial.. and put instead a great sacrifice/sheep.. and it is for us a feast to remember that great lesson (of loving Allah alone and anything else is included)in that great story.

My Lord, grant me[a child]from among the righteous."So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy.And when he reached with him[age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allāh wills, of the steadfast."And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead,We called to him, "O Abraham,You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.Indeed, this was the clear trial. And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice,

(Oct 16 '13 at 10:14) inclined2truth inclined2truth's gravatar image

And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: "Peace upon Abraham." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous.(Quran37:100-112)

(Oct 16 '13 at 10:17) inclined2truth inclined2truth's gravatar image

good thing it was a boy. yeah i know the story, well as told in the old testement. it was isaac. no matter to me. did god send gabriel to grab abrham's hand and stop the knife from plunging in to ishmael just in time. at least y'all agree on a ram stuck in a thicket.

so don't love your children, love allah and allah alone? (talk about tripe) i did not know that, see i learn alot about islam here. guess you have never heard of the socratic method.

but yes to all who have not heard. i do not like islam.

(Oct 16 '13 at 11:43) abul rauf abul%20rauf's gravatar image

who said do not love your children?we said, Love your children in Allah! love your children without forgetting Allah who brought/gifted them to you. We Love them because they are Allah's gift to us. We love prophet Muhammad because Allah love and chose him.. we love Muhammad's family and friends because his love to them.. and because the love of my love is beloved. We love them in Allah not separated since nothing has power in itself but by Allah. I do not think you will understand the meaning of "Love Allah" as I said in my post, it will not be understood for the people who use 5 senses alone

(Oct 16 '13 at 12:12) inclined2truth inclined2truth's gravatar image

you said: "this son(ishmael) grew up and start to help his father (abraham) and his (abraham's) heart started to share some love with Allah's love in His (allah's) heart. Allah taught him a lesson and ordered him to kill/slaughter his son" what is the lesson? love can't be shared? why is he ordered to kill his son?

sorry you have to speak a little clearer than that. i'm lower than a cow, remember.

so do muslims have sarah putting goat skin over isacc's arms and sending him in to steal ishmael's birthright?

(Oct 16 '13 at 12:32) abul rauf abul%20rauf's gravatar image

what is the lesson? the lesson is that he should not share Love with Allah!

Love can't be shared? No, unless it is in Allah! included not excluded!

Why is he ordered to kill his son? to learn the lesson.

so do muslims have sarah putting goat skin over isacc's arms and sending him in to steal ishmael's birthright? No!

(as you said) you are less than the cow because the cow is not created to know/love/worship Allah! the cow in itself is not insult.. but when a man act as a cow then that is the insult and more lost.

"And We have certainly created for Hell many of the jinn and mankind. They have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. Those are like livestock; rather, they are more astray. It is they who are the heedless.'(7:179)

"Or do you think that most of them hear or reason? They are not except like livestock. Rather, they are [even] more astray in [their] way." (25:44)

(Oct 16 '13 at 13:27) inclined2truth inclined2truth's gravatar image

"Love can't be shared? No" good to know. thanks buddy. i'll have to reread the 7th surah. didn't commit 179 to memory. it shows the facist and supremist nature of islam. 25:44 is forever engrained in my mind. but thanks for the reminder of the koran's/islam's view of those of us who do not believe. you ever seen abu hamaz saying you can grab the kafir, they are like cattle. you can kill them. i guess he gets that from reading the koran?

(Oct 16 '13 at 13:50) abul rauf abul%20rauf's gravatar image

no mention of the thunder storm. that is my favorite. i live in tampa bay, our hockey time is the lightning. we are like the in the top ten for lightning strikes in the world. even as a child i was never afraid of lightning.

[2.18] Deaf, dumb (and) blind, so they will not turn back. [2.19] Or like abundant rain from the cloud in which is utter darkness and thunder and lightning; they put their fingers into their ears because of the thunder peal, for fear of death, and Allah encompasses the unbelievers. [2.20] The lightning almost takes away their sight; whenever it shines on them they walk in it, and when it becomes dark to them they stand still; and if Allah had pleased He would certainly have taken away their hearing and their sight; surely Allah has power over all things.

(Oct 16 '13 at 13:56) abul rauf abul%20rauf's gravatar image

-_-, now that i know abulrauf doesn't like Islam, there is no need for you to add input. I'm trying to better myself and my spouse. i understand if you dislike something but don't tamper with minds of those who actually truly want to learn and grow. that's like dangling cake in front of me then telling me to run 20 miles before i can have it. i ask respectfully that you keep your comments to yourself.

(Oct 16 '13 at 14:47) AmirahBayyan AmirahBayyan's gravatar image

to inclined2truth & abyadgirl thank you both for your insight. and warning. i don't like my knowledge and learning to be tampered with and you both have given me a little more insight to this all. thank you.

(Oct 16 '13 at 14:49) AmirahBayyan AmirahBayyan's gravatar image

alright, just a trinity of comments. your analogy doesn't make sense, best of luck to ya and go gators.

(Oct 16 '13 at 14:53) abul rauf abul%20rauf's gravatar image

my analogy does make sense. your comments are the cake, but the fact that i now know you dislike Islam is the 20 miles. you're trying to give me insight on something you don't like. i don't know why you dislike Islam so much, respectfully i don't care, but don't give me your opinion. you come off very cocky, and as a know it all. you don't believe in anything therefore i see no need for your insight.

(Oct 16 '13 at 15:02) AmirahBayyan AmirahBayyan's gravatar image

well said! may Allah guide you Amirah(and me and Abyadgirl and all) to the way of success.

(Oct 16 '13 at 15:08) inclined2truth inclined2truth's gravatar image

thank you, i wish the warning would have came sooner, (lol). I'm really trying to better myself. Not like I'm over the top rebel or anything but just want to have that guidance in life. thank you both for your insight, i really do appreciate it.

(Oct 16 '13 at 15:11) AmirahBayyan AmirahBayyan's gravatar image

ok, now that you explained it, it does make sense. but even in my cockiness i didn't equate my comments to cake. i was thinking that after running the 20 miles you should have me smashing the cake on the ground in front of you. there i go with my know it all(ness). anyway, have i given you an opinion about your situation that hasn't been confirmed by everyone here? just because i don't like islam, that doesn't mean i can't understand it's laws. in fact it's laws are why i don't like it. as i said on your original post. you should ask paul how he balances his beliefs and his family life.

(Oct 16 '13 at 15:24) abul rauf abul%20rauf's gravatar image

Lol:) I believe there must be a wisdom and good in everything Allah decreed. may be the warning was delayed for some better reason that we know or do not know! may be it will strengthen your faith more and teach you or to others a lesson.. may be to discover new friends seeking the path of Allah(as most muslims would love to help in the good), or may be for to know the enemy and realize how much the truth is fought by falsehood.. and when just the truth is mentioned falsehood depart away. just putting truth next to falsehood will leave no trace for falsehood. welcome and best wishes

(Oct 16 '13 at 15:30) inclined2truth inclined2truth's gravatar image

abul, your still a know it all in my eyes, point blank, as for paul, if he had something to say, i believe he would have said it by now. -_-, i mean just having a duhhh moment.

inclined2truth, thanks, same to you.

(Oct 16 '13 at 16:17) AmirahBayyan AmirahBayyan's gravatar image

tru dat. ok, i've been thinking on this analogy. it's starting to grow on me. i was thinking the cake should be poison. then i thought poison apple. you get sleeping beauty imagery and adam and eve. or an carmel covered apple with a razor blade in it, in honor of halloween. but you won't be doing halloween any more. i know (it all), a peach. ya from georgia, right.

btw i was at calloway gardens this year, the peaches we got weren't very good this year. amybe we just got a bad batch? left a link back up at da top for ya. a scholar's opinions (outta damascus), not mine.

(Oct 16 '13 at 16:47) abul rauf abul%20rauf's gravatar image

I'm not originally from Ga, I've just lived here for the past 2-3 years. and your taking my analogy waaaaaaay to far. and I don't care for peaches...this is irrvelent to the topic at hand.

i was going to say you must be from the northeast? an american-arab in georia worried about the heat. although you know the first mosque in america was in the midwest, north dakota i think. and of cource alot of muslims were slaves, but not arabs usually. the arabs did the enslaving. there i go rambling off topic again.

well it's nice to meet ya princess. i'm a florida cracker born and raised. so do you like soft pretzels? funny i had a phiily cheese steak for lunch today. not authentic though, subway, it sucked.
