anything with an instrument other than the duff. female singers. i mean i'm not a muslim and i like music. but if you google yusef estes music haram. you'll see him explain why. and he is a former music teacher and seller of pianos. after that youtube you will see others explain their "reasoning". also, there is a hadith saying there will be 15 signs of the end times. one is the popularity of female singers. go figure?????

Bismillah.

B= by, with.

ism= Name

illah=Allah

Bismillah = By (the) name Allah.

By (the) name Allah.. that BY-Him everything became/standing/exist.. and as Sadie told you that it means that the words of the Quran are the divine words of Allah.

surah 1 said by name allah, it dont say in that surah he created anything, so what does by name allah mean in that surah, it also dont say in that surah that his words are devine, so what does by name allah mean in that surah?

you know the first verse which was sent upon prophet Muhammad was which? it was; "Iqraa Bismi rabbika al-lazi khalaq" = "Read/recite, by name your Lord who created." so do not be surprised when you find the first verse in the Quran/recitation is starting by "Bismillah"

it is a remembrance to Allah that by Him everything is existing.

and in souraht el Fatiha we are taught how to make duaa; first we start by remembering Allah(bismillah er-rahman er-rahim) and then we thank him(elhamdoulellahi rabb-el 'alameen) and then we mention his good names/characters(ar-rahman er-rahim and then we confess that there is a Last Day and that Allah is its Owner (maliki yawm ed-deen) and then we confirm that it is Him that we worship (iyyaka na'boudou) and it is Him that we ask for help (wa iyyaka nasta'een).. and then we start to make the duaa/supplication (ehdena es-sirat-al moustaqeem)"guide us the straight path" and we confirm exactly which path.. the same path of those that you bestowed your favor upon (sirat-al lazina an'amta 'alayhim).. and not(the path) of those nor those..(ghayr-il maghdoubi 'alayhim.. wala-d daaal-leen)

Bismillah (by naming/calling Allah)(by the name Allah)is a blessed word by which we start every good thing.. we say it before doing anything (before eating or going out/in wearing standing sitting...etc
