Thank you for your question and for trying to know more about the teachings of your religion.

Peackock feathers do not symbolize anything in Islam. No object, place, number, horoscopes, etc, can bring good luck or bad luck. In fact, such things can be 'shirk' so be careful dear brothers and sisters.

As Muslims, we should never ever go to fortune tellers and never ever read horoscopes, even if we don't believe it. Beware brothers and sisters.

Servant of the Most Gracious Allah, we pray due to the instruction of the Prophet (peace be upon him).

Narrated Al Mughira bin Shuba (Sahih Al-Bokhari) The sun eclipsed in the lifetime of Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) on the day when (his son) Ibrahim died. So the people said that the sun had eclipsed because of the death of Ibrahim. Allah's Apostle said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of the death or life (i.e. birth) of someone. When you see the eclipse pray and invoke Allah."

The eclipse does not bring bad luck or good luck,

but why instruct such a thing?

Thank you for your question. gives 3 reasons according to the understanding of the author (which Allah knows whether its correct or not)why Muslims pray during an eclipse. The author also provides some textual proofs: 1. An eclipse is a sign of the majesty and power of Allah. 2. An eclipse can cause people to become frightened. When frightened, Muslims turn to Allah for patience and perseverance. 3. An eclipse is a reminder of the Day of Judgment. But only Allah alone knows the full wisdom behind this injunction to pray during an eclipse.

The sun eclipsed and the Prophet(peace be upon him) got up, being afraid that it might be the Hour (i.e. Day of Judgment). He went to the Mosque and offered a prayer with the longest Qiyam, bowing and prostration that I had ever seen him doing. Then he said, "These signs which Allah sends do not occur because of the life or death of somebody, but Allah makes His worshipers afraid by them. So when you see anything thereof, proceed to remember Allah, invoke Him and ask for His forgiveness."(Bukhari)The Prophet also said:The sun and the moon are two signs amongst the signs of Allah..
