Now updated: Ramadan calendar -

I have gotten to know this man and my family will not agree to our marriage because he speaks a different language to us. I understand speaking to him is haraam and I am repenting for this. We want to get married for the sake of Allah so we do not have displease Allah and sin anymore. I have told my parents he works hard and can give me a good future, his parents are also good people. My parents are making me choose between them and him. I do not want to hurt them but I also do not want to continue a haraam relationship. Could you please give me some advise? Thank you.

This is a very difficult situation which I have been in before. From an islamic view there is no wrong in marrying someone as long as they are muslim and want to do the right thing for the sake of Allah. However practically you have to think about the effects this will have on how your future will be with regards to your family. But its your choice and you should do what you feel is right. .im sure your family will come around to it. But remember there is plenty of good men out there. He is not the only one so don't lose hope. Look forward rather than looking at at what is in front of you. You will see the bigger picture. Inshallah
