animation & cartoons?

1	assalam a'likum, i want to ask if is it ok to watch cartoons as i like them very much and sometimes mom tells me that it is bad and haram. Plz, is it ok to watch cartoon & animation movies?

2	muhamed peace be upon him " your self have rights on you " but as senia said it depends the cartoon. you should pay attention There are cartoons that contain forbidens And try to take advantage of the time in the Holy Quran

as far as possible try not to waste your time by watching all this, as ALLAH is going to question you about every minor single second that you are spending at.even i am crazy for animated series but think about your akhirah. you will inshallah get a lot of sawab if you not watch cartoons after reading this.. may ALLAH put all the muslims to jannatulfirdaus.... there you can do whatever you want....

You should obey your mother. By coming here and asking this question you are trying to find a way to to subvert her authority, isn't this a sin. Accept your mothers authority, what does the Quran say the relationship between children and there parents should be?

Obedience to your parents is important, yes. However, if your parents are saying that something is haram without providing evidences to back it up, then seeking knowledge to find the truth of the matter is also important. Whether or not it actually turns out to be haram or sinful, it is still better to obey your mother and avoid them.
