Now updated: Ramadan calendar -

Islam is beautiful, but sometimes I feel it's quite unfair to women. First of all, we are not allowed to wear Itr. What if our intention is just so we can smell nice and proper in front of other people (we don't want to show that muslims smell stinky)? No makeup, no bright colours, no jewellery! Someone also told me women aren't allowed to go to the mosque!! Why?!?! We have to say trapped in our house, we can't even go to the house of Allah!! Please explain all of this.

Who said women can't go to the mosque? Most mosques have a place where women can pray by themselves, that person that told you women can't go to the mosque is dumb in the head. Also, I think women are allowed to wear jewellery, isn't a ring counted as jewellery? So are you telling me that wearing a ring is not allowed? Where did you get these information from? I don't have proof to back me up but hopefully someone else will give you a better answer than mine. Salaam.

It's just a word of mouth. I often think that these people don't know what they're saying.

"Then they started to give their jewellery in charity, throwing their earrings and rings into Bilaal’s cloak.”"

also, i thought jewllery was a common form of mahr? have you never heard the hadith of the iron ring?

not being muslim i've only been to a couple of mosques. but there were women at both. they were behind a wall, but still there. perhaps this person was speaking of a particular mosque which doesn't have a room for women. but even then i think they should be allowed in the back. but my understanding is that that maybe discouraged?

SubhanaAllah. Jewellery is not forbidden for women.
