As-salam alaykum.

I heard that in Islam, you must satisfy your parents and they should leave this world satisfied. On the other hand, it also says to follow the laws of Islam. The problem is that my parents want me to learn and study more than practicing religion. For example, when I tell them to wake me up for Farj prayer, they let me sleep and when it's time to go to school, they come in to my room and cause a riot in the house. So, if my parents are keeping me from being religious, and Allah requires me to worship Him and not to disobey, my head is stuck. I have no idea what to do.

aww,

The prophet (saw) has said: there is no obedience to parents if it requires disobedience to Allah. If your parents are not waking you up, you need to set an alarm, wake up yourself, and pray Fajr. At the same time, we should try to keep our parents happy in all other things. Thus, look after them, and if they want you to study, keep them happy by studying hard, but also make sure you perform your prayers.

Allah also tells us to look after and obey our parents, but then adds, ان جاهداك لتشرك بي ما ليس لك به علم فلا تطعهما - if they try and make you do shirk, then do not obey them. In short, if they try to make you do acts of sin, then do not obey them, but obey them in everything else.
