Now updated: Islam.com Ramadan calendar - islam.com/salat

I am a 19 year old girl and fell in love with an 18 year old boy. He goes to my uni and is a very well mannered, pious, and respectable guy. Recently we decided that we wanted to get married to each other to keep things halal and not let a haram relationship continue in this way. He told his parents but the problem came with me telling mine. Unfortunately, I come from a family who believe that it is necessary for me to make something of myself first and then think about marriage when I'm 23/24. Despite knowing this I told my mother about him and her reaction wasn't the best one. She got very angry at the fact that I even brought up marriage at the age of 19 and asked me to stop talking to this guy. She refused to meet the guy and didn't give him a chance but said that if in 4 years time he is willing to wait for me then he should come with his parents and ask for my hand in marriage. Alhamdullilah we both agreed to this however our love and bond has become too strong. It is becoming difficult by the day and I cannot bring up marriage again with my mother as it deeply upset her. I dont know how to convince her to allow this nikkah. She hasn't said no to him yet. I know we are young but love sees no age. And the fact that he told his mother straight away about me says a lot about the guy. He is very certain of what he wants and has already started planning on means to provide for me and our future family In Sha Allah. I would appreciate if I could get some advice on how to convince my mother to look past our age and allow us to get married in the next 2-3 years. By that time we will both be done with our degrees and will be 21/22. JazakAllah

Just wanted to add, I performed Istakhara regarding him being the right guy for me and Alhamdullilah it came out positive. I told my mother about that too she still didn't budge from her decision.

Fast for three days and do at least two rakahs around 2 - 3 am and pray to Allah swa u will be surprised In sha Allah. : D
