Assalaam Alaikum wa rahmatullah, Dear brother, our intuition is like our gut feeling like a voice inside. If one performs Istikhara, one may get this feeling as a form of guidance from Allah Subhana wa ta’ala.

Some Muslims confuse intuition as Shaytan's whispers. If the matter which you were about to do or undertake is of a halal nature, then you should comfortably follow your intuition. If the matter is of a haram nature, then you can establish that it is from Shaitan and not follow through with it.

Most times, gut feeling save us many problems or can even save our life. Your gut instinct tells you to curb your trust in evil people around you. It is not an uncommon experience when we may have met someone new but a certain feeling of distrust of wariness overtook us. Intuition also tells you what you should do for others or what you should do with your life. Your intuition is in fact guidance.

Now in case that you are experiencing anxiety or as you state paranoia during simple everyday halal tasks, then this could in actual fact, be an anxiety problem. In this case you will need to learn ways in which you can control your anxiety. There is a question posted recently in which I have provided some advice regarding anxiety. Please refer to question: How can I cure from compulsive waswas? InshaAllah you will be able to determine which of the above apply to you and resolve your anxiety regarding this matter. May Allah Subhana wa ta’ala bless you with His guidance. Ameen.
