we dont belive he was we belive that allah brought him up to heaven and somone who looked similar to jesus was crusified we werent told specifacly how most people belive one of three things 1-allah made a human being at that moment to save isa 2-somone volenteered to be crucified instead and allah made him appear to look like isa 3- allah took one of isa enemies and made him appear to look like isa but in any of these cases the main thing is that we dont belive he was crucified because human beings dont resurect thats why isa is the only prophet that can come back because he never died and also because all three religions have significant differences about isas teachings

Salaam,

No. According to the Quran, Jesus (PBUH) was not crucified.

"And because of their saying (in boast). We killed Messiah 'Isa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), the Messenger of Allah," -- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but the resemblance of 'Isa (Jesus) was put over another man (and they killed that man)..." (Quran 4:157)

im also a muslim i agree with most of muslims we believe that issah did not die on the cross because from the bible it clearly states in hebrews 9:27 that it is written for all men to die once and afterwards judgement

JESUS WAS NOT CRUCIFIED ACCORDING TO QURAN. ALLAH KNOWS BEST AND HE SAID IN QURAN THAT HE RAISED JESUS UP TO HEAVEN.AND DURING AL ISROOIL WAL MIROOJ<journey to="" jerusalam="" and="" ascending="" to="" heaven=""> OF PROPHET MUHAMMAD SAL ALLAHU ALAIHI WA SALLAM WHEN HE WAS CALLED TO COME AND COLLECT SALAT. As salaam alaikum,

The majority of mufasiroon (scholars of the Qur'an) believe he (a.s.) was not crucified.

However, Shaykh Muhammad al Ghazali (not THE al Ghazali), one of the famous scholars from Al Azhar in Egypt, stated in his book "A Thematic Commentary of the Qur'an" that he is of the opinion that Isa/Jesus (a.s.) was indeed crucified.

If this particular question is causing you to question your faith, please go and talk to a qualified scholar immediately. Your local Imam or Shaykh is probably a good place to start inshaa Allah ta'ala.

May Allah guide you and may He reward you immensely for seeking knowledge about our deen. Ameen.

What that scholar is saying is bidah because it goes against the Qur'an which is perfect alhamdulillah Allah is exulted and free from error.

as salaam alaikum,

I don't think it is fair to say it is bid'ah without reading his entire opinion. You are passing judgement on my summary of his lengthy tafseer on that very ayah in question. Please go and read why he comes to this conclusion before deciding against him inshaa Allah ta'ala.

I didn't mean to offend you sister. In the Qur'an it states they killed him not nor crucified him". Now you have read this man's work so maybe you can enlighten me Insha Allah.

According to Scholars, Jesus knew he was going to be killed and asked his followers to take his place and sacrifice themselves for his life. A young man volunteered himself, his face was changed by got to look like Jesus and he was actually the one that was killed. Jesus's sole was uplifted by Allah.

Aside from the qúran, what other evidence to muslim people feel there is that jesus didnt die (and that someone else did). Also what was Allahs reason for this - why did he allow one of Jesus followers to be crucified in his place, rather than do something to ensure neither had to die?

Does anyone have any personal experiences (that they would like to share) where they feel that Allah has spoken directly to them regarding who Jesus was and what his significance to Islam is?

I - prior to becoming a christian, did have an experience where god spoke to me directly on this, and if anyone wanted to know what happened im happy to share that - but as this is an islamic forum I wont offer up that story here :)

Jesus as will one back and be a great leader of this ummah he will also kill the djal the antichrist. This is why he was not crucified because if he had been he could not come back to earth to finish his work. It says in the bible men who die remain dead until judgment. This is why Allah subhana WA ta'ala raised him alive to heaven.
