Salam arlikoum Just would like to know if fasting on Thursday and doing sad aka is also better on Thursday and why is Thursday important .. Thanks i know that for us it s Friday very important ...
AssalamuAlaikum. Thank you for your question.
You may find your answer in this hadith:
It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Deeds are shown (to Allaah) on Mondays and Thursdays, and I like my deeds to be shown when I am fasting.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 747; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb, 1041.
The Tremendous Rewards of Fasting
Imagine imagine the reward of doing this every week! We'd be much much more than Billionaires inshaAllah in terms of rewards. The reward of fasting is indeed tremendous,
It is narrated in Sahih Bukhari that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said:
"Allah said, 'All the deeds of Adam's sons (people) are for them, except fasting which is for Me, and I will give the reward for it.' Fasting is a shield or protection from the fire and from committing sins. If one of you is fasting, he should avoid sexual relation with his wife and quarreling, and if somebody should fight or quarrel with him, he should say, 'I am fasting.' By Him in Whose Hands my soul is' The unpleasant smell coming out from the mouth of a fasting person is better in the sight of Allah than the smell of musk. There are two pleasures for the fasting person, one at the time of breaking his fast, and the other at the time when he will meet his Lord; then he will be pleased because of his fasting." (Sahih Bukhari. Volume 3, Book 31, Number 128)
. . . .
The Messenger of Allah (sallallahi alaihi wasallam) also said, "There is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Raiyan, and those who observe fasts will enter through it on the Day of Resurrection and none except them will enter through it. It will be said, 'Where are those who used to observe fasts?' They will get up, and none except them will enter through it. After their entry the gate will be closed and nobody will enter through it." (Sahih Bukhari. Volume 3, Book 31, Number 120:
. . .
Fasting is also a shield against base desires, as the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said:
"O youths, whoever amongst you is able to marry then let him do so, since it restrains the eyes and protects the private parts, and he who is unable, then let him fast because it is a shield for him." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
May Allah give all the viewers and answerers the ability to come to Allah on the day of judgement and be hugely rewarded for fasting on Mondays and Thursdays. Ameen.
