Whenever i'm approaching my menstruation period, i'll have pms symptoms. One of it i really cant stand is feeling great stress. I'm now 23, it used to be even worse during my early teenage years. I used to think of dead and feeling suicidal, and visualizing morbid things. I'm just 14-15 that time. Plus i'm shy, so when i'm feeling stress i withdraw from people. And i will be so angry at everything, everyone. Sometimes i just silently blaming my parents, Allah for everything that i find troubling my life. But afterwards, i'll feel very sinful and ashame of myself. And this happen every month. During this stress time, i cant think straight, its like my brain is in wrong mode, my hormones and chemicals are not balancing. Is there a doa' or any solution related to islam to my problem.
السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته
If medication could help with the PMS symptoms and anxiety/depression, then Islam does not close the door on that. Medicine is fine, as necessary. But if you check the below إن شاء الله, then this might not be needed.
●(1) if you are engaged in sins, then work towards putting an end to that, since sins lead to punishment.
●(2) It is with the remembrance of Allah سبحانه و تعالى that hearts find rest/peace. So recite (and contemplate) the Qur'an often, with understanding. It is a healing for the Believers.
●(3) When you are angry - then seek refuge in Allah سبحانه و تعالى from Satan. (And other suggestions that our beloved Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم gave were to 1. sit down (if you are standing) and lay down (if you are sitting) and 2. make wudu. These things will help you calm down.
●(4) Every suffering that a Muslim endures in this life is a means of expiating sins (so suffering on earth is better than paying for those sins in Hell). So just know this fact and be patient.
