Assalam Alaykum

Can I thank those that have helped me understand my situation as I continue on my journey and relationship with Allah.

I hope to get to know you all better over the years through discussion and education.

There is no such thing as good mosque but there are good Islamic scholars like Dr. Zakir Naik, Sheikh Yusuf Estes, Abdurraheem Green etc.

Since media has portrayed Islam for you in that way, I can only request you to watch this lengthy video of Dr. Zakir on topic: Media & Islam: war or peace? (you can search this in YouTube and is 3:34 long). Watching lectures of these top scholars should clear up most of your misunderstanding.

But here is a lesson for you: first establish relationship with Allah, then worry about people. Without Allah, your afterlife is in crisis:

The Prophet of Allah, Muhammad ( s.a.w) said about the sinners. After burial of dead person his soul will return to the body, then two Angels will come and ask, "Who is your Lord?" he will answer: "I do not know". Then they will ask: "Who that person who has been sent to you?" he again will answer: "I do not know" - and then from the sky the voice will come: "he told a lie, Put him into a box from fire and open before it the Gate of a hell ! "- than it will be captured with heat of the hell, and his grave becomes narrow and the edges will be compressed

I hate to admit but she is correct. You have to learn about Islam my friend and you know giving Muslim girl to Non Muslim guy is not permissible (this is because the girl goes into groom non-believing family, and has to adopt to their customs, whereas vice versa is different but permissible)? So her parents are correct in their own way, as the glorious Qura'n says:

And do not marry Al-Mushrikat (idolatresses, etc.) till they believe (worship Allah Alone). And indeed a slave woman who believes is better than a (free) Mushrikah (idolatress), even though she pleases you. And give not (your daughters) in marriage to Al-Mushrikun till they believe (in Allah Alone) and verily, a believing slave is better than a (free) Mushrik (idolater), even though he pleases you. Those (Al-Mushrikun) invite you to the Fire, but Allah invites (you) to Paradise and Forgiveness by His Leave, and makes His Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) clear to mankind that they may remember.

(Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #221)

Adbul

Many thanks for your insight.

What The Prophet of Allah, Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) said about sinners is exactly why I had to wait until I was ready to discover Allah and not to suit marriage until my relationship with Allah was established.

As for your latter point about marriage I agree totally.

The more verses I read the more I understand.

I feel blessed to have met this woman, she had guided my path to Allah and I hope one day that I will be able to return such blessings through marriage InshaAllah

Praise is only for Allah. I am His creation, and I will perish in this world and return to Him.

I am glad I have helped you.

Jazakala Khair
