Now updated: Islam.com Ramadan calendar - islam.com/salat

I've been browsing this site extensively, and i was bothered by some hadiths that were about slavery. It related in some hadiths, that after some battles the Muslims captured some females from the enemy. Some Muslim warriors then had sex with them. it sounds like rape to me. I don't really understand it, could someone please help?

the old coitus interruptus? yeah, if you google 'video of london cartoon protest' you will see a guy in london say, "we'll take your wives as war booty". a return to the 7th century is probably not the best idea. nor is it going to happen, despite the best effort of some muslims.

Salam

You must quote hadith for better explanation. Just saying you found out doesn't seem to carry enough weight to me. Bring the hadith and then we shall analyse with you.

Preferably quoting the hadith, and using the book name (e.g. sahih bukhari-book of manners or book number) and hadith number (e.g. 5498) would be essential.

There are many misconceptions about Islam. If you want me to help you better then help me find the hadith that you're pointing towards.

Alright here are some hadiths i found;

Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri that while he was sitting with Allah's messenger we said, "Oh Allah's messenger, we got female captives as our booty, and we are interested in their prices, what is your opinion about coitus interruptus?" The prophet said, "Do you really do that? It is better for you not to do it. No soul that which Allah has destined to exist, but will surely come into existence."

(also refer to Bukhari Vol. 3, #718)

Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri that during the battle with Bani Al-Mustaliq they (Muslims) captured some females and intended to have sexual relations with them without impregnating them. So they asked the prophet about coitus interruptus. The prophet said, "It is better that you should not do it, for Allah has written whom He is going to create till the Day of Resurrection".

        Qaza'a said, "I heard Abu Said saying that the prophet said, "No soul is ordained to be created but Allah will create it.""

(also ref. Bukhari 5:459).
