I‘m 26, When I was 16 I wore a silk tie on my suit for my cousins wedding. I repent for this all the time and I’m planning to go hajj soon. Will I not be allowed to wear silk in Jannah.

Don't you get a woman a diamond ring when you get engaged to her in the west? Just a parable

I think its a more matter of observation. For men its not allowed cause it called "showing off" but for woman its like showing her "adornment"

You have to appreciate that Allah knows His creation better and that means He knows to the core: each gender requirements

My own personal opinion is even if I don't get to wear silk in this world, I am going to be wearing it after my death in paradise inshalah

You either sacrifice desires in this world for the hereafter or sacrifice hereafter for this world

Before passing any comment ponder over this Hadith:

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The world is a prison for the believer and a paradise for the unbeliever.”

May Allah guide you to the true way, and make you amongst the jannati.

Assalamualaikum brother. I'm going to try and explain something deep. These prohibitions has nothing to do with superstitions. One of the wisdom is that of test. Allah has commanded us to do certain things, and abstain from certain things (such as men wearing silk). This is similar to how He ordered our parents Adam alaihis Salam and Hawwa alaihis Salam to abstain from the fruit. Depending on how well we heed these commands despite our urge to do so otherwise, our ranks may vary in the hereafter.

askislam, it's a sign of the end times. if enough men wear silk allah will release gog and magog and the anti-christ.

looks like you can't sit on it either. www.islamqa.info/en/158299

ask, if you are looking for reason and logic in religion, you will go crazy. but i'll take a stab in the dark. i think maybe muhammad didn't want the men wear the gold because they might have to go into battle at any moment. or if you let them wear it, they might wear it into battle, thusly putting it at risk of being lost. as for silk, maybe didn't want them to be pampered and lounging around getting soft?
