Doing Dua (Supplication) after the Obligatory Prayer is Innovation or not ???

1	I will be thankful if somebody clear me about the dua (supplication) done after the "FARD PRAYERS" (obligatory prayers) by the imam of the mosques in our sub-continent (Asia). Is it innovation ? Edit: May I clarify MY QUESTION to the reader please : I mean dua in congregation(collectively)all by raising hand with imam. ALLOWED OR NOT ?
