How does Allah (and other Muslims) view your past when you convert to Islam? I was raised an atheist and there was no right or wrong so I did many bad things. When I was about 28 years old, I read one of the Gospels (the Gospel of Matthew) for the first time. I knew right away that I believed that God (the God of Abraham) was true. A few years later I became a Christian and tried to be a better person. When someone converts to Christianity, they are considered re-born. Their past is wiped away because these were actions you took before you knew better and God only judges your actions after becoming a Christian. Even though I am Christian, I always felt that what the church was teaching was not quite right. For one, I don't understand why they say Jesus is God. And I've felt in my heart that this was wrong. Recently, after getting to know some Muslims through facebook, I decided to look into Islam. It has only been a few months, but I believe Islam is more in line with what I believe is true. What I want to know is, if I convert to Islam, will I be viewd/judged from that point on? |
