Now updated: Ramadan calendar -

I would like to ask you - how far a Muslim use the funds in the name of orphans or needy to run a school, academy, tuition, own house or create self employment. Highlighting the focus on creating the pseudo-need for the above said activities. My intention to know the facts in the light of quran and hadiths, kindly elaborate me to understand better the life of Muslims. Thanks.

well you must donate 10% of your earning to charity unless your poor and have no money to spare so this keeps the world in balance (if everyone engaged in this act) and anything beyond is your choice but we belive that from your deed of charity everytime somone benifits from it you recive the same benifit for example if you build a school and a kid learns an important lesson like stealing is wrong you get good deeds because through your act that child learned that and if they teach that to thousands of children you get a lot of good deeds so it is encourged to donate and give to those in need because you get a lot of good deeds

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "O people! Allah is Pure and, therefore, accepts only that which is pure. Allah has commanded the believers as He has commanded His Messengers by saying: O Messengers! Eat of the good things, and do good deeds.' (23:51) And He said:O you who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism)! Eat of the lawful things that We have provided you...''' (2:172). Then he (PBUH) made a mention of the person who travels for a long period of time, his hair are dishevelled and covered with dust. He lifts his hand towards the sky and thus makes the supplication: `My Rubb! My Rubb!' But his food is unlawful, his drink is unlawful, his clothes are unlawful and his nourishment is unlawful, how can, then his supplication be accepted?'' [Muslim].

Commentary: For the grant of prayer, honest earning is essential. Allah accepts charity only if it has been earned in an honest way. Moreover, before any pious action, honest earning for living is essential; otherwise good actions will also go waste.
