Can muslims and christians be friends?

yes muslims are allowed to have christian friends

yes we can take them as friends..........there is nothing forbidding us from this,,,,and may be by being close to them u can show them the best of Islam.in all cases, they say god.

Yes and that verse of Quran brother mentioned doesn't apply in time of peace. That verse (Surat Al Imran (3) Ayah (verse) 28) was reveled in time of war where Christians and Jews had wage wars against Moslems. For those Christians that were fighting Moslems, friendship with them was disallowed. But if you read other verses of Quran, it refers kindly to people of the book specially Christians here is a translation of verse in Quran

"...and nearest among them in love to the believers will you find those who say, 'We are Christians,' because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant" (5:82).

Islam is common sense. If people respect you and your beliefs and are not waging wars against you or working against you, then friendship with them shouldn't harm.

they can be your friends of course, but they must not be your most trusted ones. you Muslim brothers or sisters should be your closest friends, but there is nothing wrong with having non-Muslim friends

Muslims and christians good and alike in nature can prove good friends. There is no prohibtion in Islam as such. Christians are the people of book as muslims do.

If you read the history of the prophet PBUH during medina period, the answer is very clear. The prophet PBUH, treated everyone equally and gave everyone full rights and fair treatment in all matters, he did not indulge in casting people out who did not follow his religion.

always, all religion in this world are a friend. but someone maybe not thinking about like this, they just think their self and never care with the surround of there all.
