How many sunnah do you do after each prayer and do you do sunnah for every prayer before and after?

  • Fajr: 2 rakat sunnah , 2 rakat fard

Dhuhr: 4 rakat Sunnah, 4 rakat fard, 2 rakat sunnah and 2 rakat nafl

Asr: 4 rakat sunnah, 4 rakat fard

Maghrib: 3 rakat fard, 2 rakat sunnah, 2 rakat nafl

Esha: 4 rakat sunnah, 4 rakat fard, 2 rakat sunnah, 2 rakat nafl, 3 rakat witr

reading sunnah prayer is highly recommended for all namaz

The Witr (odd number) prayer is extra prayers that the Prophet practiced and highly encouraged Muslims to practice as well.

You can offer Witr prayers anytime after ‘Isha’ until the time for Fajr prayer. You may choose to pray one, three, five, seven, or nine Rak’ahs.

And Witr are performed at night after Isha`s Salah, night time prayer or before Fajr dawn Prayer

                                             Fard are Obligatory

For Fajr,: 2 Rakahs Sunnah (can be performed after the fard) 2 Rakahs Fard,(Obligatory)

Dhuhr: 4 Rakahs Sunnah, 2 Rakahs Sunnah, 4 Rakahs Fard, 2 Rakahs Nawafil( Nawafil are Voluntary)

Asr:4 Rakahs Sunnah, 4 Rakahs Fard

Maghrib: 2 Rakahs Sunnah, 3 Rakahs Fard, 2 Rakah`s Nawafil

Isha: 4 Rakahs Sunnah, 2 Rakahs Sunnah, 4 Rakahs Fard, 3 Rakahs Witr


And in Midnight, The Tahajjud Salah, its Voluntary,but Prophet Muhammed performed it regularly, and Prophet Muhammed S.A.W encouraged also his companions to offer it,

Surah Al Israa, 17:79

And from [part of] the night, pray with it as additional [worship] for you; it is expected that your Lord will resurrect you to a praised station.
