@Al Ummat: Ban power to moderator means; as like administrator ban any member, Moderator can also ban members who do offensive, abusive, inapropriate post. because deleting is not the only solution. He post you delete, he post you delete, he post you delete........posting deleting occurs till the admin logged in then ban him. And when admin logged in.... Once in a day.... and playing this game posting deleting is too irritating and it get too much when you have to do urgent work and he is posting offensive material.. so moderators also be given banning power to take quick action. Or admin must logged in at quick interval of 1 hour.

ok I understand. There are two kinds of banning that could be done, 1. indefinite suspension and 2.limited suspension which means you can suspend a user for a certain amount of time. I think perhaps the limited banning feature should be aloud to be accessed by moderators and leave the indefinite banning to the admins. @asif what do you think?

I am looking into a banning feature that can be given to moderators.

answered 1.0k1935 Irfan%20Alam's gravatar image

@asif: since you are not active all the the time then you should either appoint 2, 3 administrator remains active all the time or give Ban power also to moderator...

@Irfan Alam what do you mean ban power to moderator? moderators are needed just as administrators, so if we get three admins we still need the moderators. The problem with giving someone administrator power is that you can't really trust someone with it especially someone who you don't know online. If asif gave admin powers to anyone (which I am very sure won't happen Insha'Allah) than they would probably abuse it, just like on other OSQA forums I have seen moderators abuse their powers. Another thing is hardly anyone here knows how to operate the admin and it's tools.

@asif: ban this user @PROPHETMUHAMMADR--------, i dont wanna to take his name.

answered 1.0k1935 Irfan%20Alam's gravatar image

@asif: the abuser is once again active with different ID @iamtheprophet . Please take appropriate action..

answered 1.0k1935 Irfan%20Alam's gravatar image

@Irfan Alam There is no point of keep suspending the same user with different accounts if he/she is just going to create a new one. No, if @asif and @admin are able to ip ban or is creating such feature than that will keep the user from here.
