Assalamoualaikoum.I went to my x father in law funeral and was asked by a sis in law not to come there again as when his dad was alive he asked her not to allow me there after his death, she told me not to come otherwise his dad soul wn't find peace in his grave. Is that allow in islam that we sud listen to all the desire of that dead person. To me my sis in law is taking his father greater than the great almighty because i wonder if she does everything as per the Quran or according islam.I am only human being,i erred in my past bt i repent,i pray five time daily and spent most of my spare time reading quran.I personally never bother about my x in laws whatever they do or not doesnt matter to me because his son already left me 6yrs ago,bt my x father in law used to always poke his nose in my affair, even that i never had any ill feeling against him, when i heard of his death i went to pay my condoleances, but i wana know just because of his saying that make me a worst person.was he allow to say that as per islam...is that true that if i go there his soul wn't find peace..

Assalamu alaikum warahmatullaahi wabarakaatuh

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "The actions of every dead person come to a halt with his death except the one who is on the frontier in Allah's way (i.e., observing Ribat). This latter's deeds will be made to go on increasing for him till the Day of Resurrection, and he will be secure from the trials in the grave."[Abu Dawud and At- Tirmidhi - hassan saheeh]

Allaah knows best, but now you must look to the future. Forgive them, put everything in the past and turn to your Lord in sincerity. Every act of kindness will never be lost.

May Allaah forgive us and grant us Paradise, amen.
