1. I have been told that a woman shouldnt leave the house after childbirth for first 40 days. Living in the uk this would be very difficult as home births are not the norm. Is there anything in islam that says this is correct?

I have also been told that any clothes a newborn baby wears in the first 40 days are not allowed to be worn after this period of time. To me this would imply that a newborn baby would be impure? Is a baby born pure or not? I would like to know whether this is a cultural thing or islamic. 3. I would also like to know the meaning of the name 'Yusuf'. I have gathered that this name was a prophets name, but i am struggling to find a real meaning for it. Thank you.
